Lucario shouldn't lose his spot. I can't see why, he was pretty good and a reasonable choice for a newcomer! Emphasis mine... My first point is stronger than ever!! You're already talking about the game in the past tense, and I still have TWO MONTHS to wait until the game gets released here!! |

Lucario's losing his spot. The next character will be whoever's in the next big Pokemon movie. Same could happen to Ike if a new Fire Emblem Lord in a big change for the series occurs (like, bigger than the first 3D Lord) or if they're waaaay more popular than Ike.
What should be in the next Smash...
-Equality in stages (give us two Kirby stages, two F-Zero stages, etc)
-Playable Goroh (we need two F-Zero guys), Ridley (Sakurai even notes people wanted him a lot, if they tried he could work. LET'S HOPE), Isaac or a Nintendo Wars rep (maybe Pokemon Trainer styled Red (Orange) Star units)
-Mega Man or Phoenix Wright
-More classic trophies
-More equality in trophies for Yoshi, Wario, Kid Icarus, etc

Both Roy and Mewtwo were very much planned to return so I doubt it's a cycling spot and instead that's just how it worked. AS for F-Zero rep, what about Black Shadow. Gohor isn't extremely popular anywhere, but the Japanese love Balck Shadow. |

The 75m and Mario Bros. stages in Brawl are so identical to the places from their original games, it's uncomfortable to play on them. If Donkey Kong arcade and Mario Bros. arcade have to comeback (which wouldn't hurt, for the sake of memories), they should try to make them more playable while keeping elements from the original games IMO.
And yes, it needs to be an international release.

I've got a feeling Mewtwo will be one of them 'he wasn't in Brawl for some reason but now he's back!' characters.
Not that I care too much about him though.
Dunno how many characters Fire Emblem would get, but with the re-remake for the DS coming along I'm willing to bet one of Marth's companions would become playable. Maybe that Sheeda chick, she's got the blue hair going on too.
Aw drat now I'm talking about characters again, I'll stop with that.
And yes, a game like Smash Brothers could use a channel like MK Wii. Don't care about stats or voicechat or anything (communicating with people by spamming taunts is good enough for me) but I'd like nicknames to see who I'm playing against and know when I see them again some other time.

First and foremost is a better integrated online system. Hopefully the Wii2 takes care of the majority of this by implementing a proper system from the get-go. If not, and the Wii2 has a similar online system to the Wii (ie none), then yeah, at least similar to Mario Kart.

Improve the Online
More stages for lesser franchises
Beef up Stage Builder
Bring back older items and stages
Make Melee/64 stages used in 1-Player mode so they aren't useless
Let us upload trophies from past games, or move to a new system (cards?)
Do away with Stickers
Customizable music (as in something like Ridge Racer/Excite Truck
Include more 3rd party characters like Simon, Mega Man, Pac-Man, etc.
Include more retro Nintendo characters like Mike, Mac, Takamaru, etc.
Include more new Nintendo characters like Jill, Saki, etc.

So I'm shooting to question to y'all. What modes and features would you guys like to see in another Smash Brothers game. Or, are there any in now that you would take out. I have some.... -Add Critical Hits. They work wonders for TF2 so I don't doubt they would be awesome for Brawl. Even have a character that is really weak but has an amazing crit rate (thinking Tingle) -Squads. Like Soul Caliber, you play as a team of two, three or four different characters and switch out every time you die -Single player Tournaments. You move on though numerous themed tournaments. Really, Smashchu, how many of these kinds of topics have you been making? |

I'm expecting alternate costumes like Wario and Samus. I do like to see an older Ranger Ike and a younger Prince Marth.
Yet more first party characters.
I really see how much work they have been doing since 2006.
