I don't see Nitnen in Smash at all. He looks exactly like Ness. To the color of the clothes even.

Ah, but they did. AlphaDream is made of former Square members, most of which worked on SMRPG. As for the latter, they retained rights to original characters in SMRPG. Simple as that. Which is just downright retarded (no offense). The Itadaki Street DS game for DS was another Square/Nintendo cross that actually used SMRPG music, and NOTHING ELSE. I just hope that because Japan is finally getting SMRPG on the VC we will see it come out Stateside and finally in PAL territories. That should spark interest in the game again, I would hope. People knock it for no real good reason. It's a solid game. And, frankly, I would totally peg Geno as a "Mario RPG" game rep well above any of the Paper Mario partners (who are pretty unoriginal in design). Well, we don't know what happened with Geno. It could have been "Oh, SE owns him. Next." Or it could have been a long process and it fell though. The solution would be for Nintendo to just buy the rights. But how it would work or if they would do it is unknown.

Look, there are many characters from all of Nintendo, so they figure they could skip Geno this round, but if SSB4 happens, they will have to seriously consider the top choice for it, which will be Geno. They also have to add Krystal, and possibly Ridley. They may also add Mewtwo, Dixie Kong, and Toon Zelda/Tetra. Beyond that, all I know is that it won't be any of Arcadenik's choices. Man, I get lambasted for suggesting that Simon Belmont has a chance, while he wants guys like the Duck Hunt Dog.
Though can I really complain about Overalls Wario when I want Dr. Mario to return?

On Geno, that's a good point. Hopefully that is the case. I wanted him for quite a while. I wonder if that was ever why characters ever got looks over (Maybe Pit?) Thing is we've all said the same thing to him. None of use want the characters or see them as interesting. But it's a moot point now. We know this, and he does too. Matter of opinion. I could say you want to see the Doc becuase you like the Dr. Mario games, but in the same sence, he wants OW becuase he likes the Wario Land series. The one exception is Dr. Mario has been playable before. But something came to mind. I'd like to see Nintendo tackle Smash on the handheld front. It would be great if the series was more constant. We have to wait 5-7 years for another one, so it would be nice to see one every 3-4 or so. Like, maybe only have a few characters. Cut a lot, add some more, but never just drop them. So when the console version comes out, most of them return.

Hey, I didn't say if I liked it or not. I don't. It's just the way business is usually done in the video game industry. A third party makes a game for a first party and retains rights to the original content. They're are exceptions. Treasure is one. Both Sin & Punishment and Gunstar Heroes belong to Nintendo and Sega, respectively (I think... Not sure about the latter. Doesn't Sega also have the rights to Dynamite Headdy?). Treasure owns the rights to a few of their games, but I don't think they usually care. Another thing to consider is, back then, Squaresoft made games exclusively for Nintendo. Had they stayed in bed with Ninty, I bet we'd have seen more SMRPG content in things by now. I don't see Nitnen in Smash at all. He looks exactly like Ness. To the color of the clothes even. The Mother fanboy in me wants to point out they're are a few differenes. Ninten wears his hat sideway; Ness wears his backwards. The stripes on Ninten's shirt are wider than Ness's. IIRC, Ninten is shown as chubbier in official art. Ninten wears his shirt tucked in, something only Ness' Japanese clay model did. His Japanese isn't his official design anymore, thanks to Smash Bros. Ninten doesn't wear a backpack either. And finally, one I just noticed. Ninten has blue shoes and Ness red. Ninten's clay model Ness' Japanese Clay modelNess' American clay model. See the Smash resemblance?

I'd think it would be cool to see Ninten in Brawl, but as TV Eye mentions, they are exactly the same save for some small details. Perhaps a redesign would work, like with Pit, but is it really worth it?

The next step in eliteness is learn how to avoid that type of bypassing in your message board.
As an alternate costume, Ninten would probably work for those colors that aren't for teams. Otherwise it would be very pointless to pretend that a green Ness is Ninten for example. On the other hand, it wouldn't deserve to be as independent as Overalls Wario because he's too similar to Ness.

Smash 4 won't even happen for like... 7 or 8 more years. So enjoy Brawl why we got it! (and by WE I mean Yanks! *cheers* U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.!)
