kotaku.com/390720/there-is-a-beyond-good--evil-2-sort-ofNow this is news I like to hear. I love BG&E, and knowing that a small staff has been cranking away on a sequel for over a year makes me quite happy. Now we just need to hope that UBI Soft gets around to approving the project...

That would be quite awesome! C'mon Nintendo Sonic Team Ubisoft! Listen to the fans every once in a while!

It was pretty smart of Ancel to "leak" this info. It drums up interest, and the more interest there is, the more likely Ubisoft will support it.

Hell yeah! It was an action adventure that was almost on a par with Zelda - and a much better effort than hundreds of other developers. The fact it never took off was a crime against gaming!!
Just... tidy up the rough edges, and it'll be an instant classic.

Well, a little more info came out last night as some further translation of the article was finished up: it'll be a 360/PS3 game if it comes out (no real surprise, but I was hoping for some Nintendo love), and two well known artists were also involved with the interviewing of Ancel - Yosh1taka* Amano (Final Fantasy and Vampire Hunter D artist) and French comic artist Enki Bilal. Intriguing! Source - kotaku.com/391065/beyond-good--evil-2-is-for-ps3-360* I'm not trying to be leet - the swear filter is editing out Mr. Amano's name. LOL It really stands out in all capitals - YOhoboAKA

Hmm... intriguing! As I may well get myself a 360 one of these days, I shall keep my eyes open. Shame it won't hit the Wii though. That's the price we pay for minimal processing power.

Look at the bright side. The Wii is getting Rayman Raving Rabbids 3 with Balance Board support. That's a fair trade, right?

No. I don't mind. BG&E is one of the prettier GC games (and considering it was multiplatform, the feat is all the more impressive), so the fact that Ancel and his staff wanted to use more graphical power doesn't surprise me. My fiance (in a few weeks, I can call her my wife! ) and I are planning to get a 360 later this year, so I don't mind.

According to GoNintendo, a video interview with Michel Ancel (link provided within the article) reveals that he has not ruled out the Wii as a platform for BG&E2. Unfortunately, the interview is entirely in French. But looking at the Google translation of the summary (and also mentioned in GoNintendo's comments), it sounds more like he's simply saying a "special version" of the game has not been ruled out for the Wii, but ultimately, they're not thinking multi-platform. I'm afraid to speculate, but is this going to lead to Beyond Good & Evil 2: Wii Edition -- The Guided First-person Experience?

I kinda hope this game doesn't get released on Wii. I think the reason the first one didn't stand out was because people probably thought it was just more multiplatform shovelware.

I agree with both of you - I'd prefer not seeing a Wii port. An original Wii title in the franchise? That'd be different. But a "Special Edition?" Nah.
Nice to hear SOME news on the game, though (finally!).
