I don't know what manga Flip is talking about, but here's another Wario Land manga, even with Captain Syrup on its cover (but the scan is very tiny): kikaim.s8.xrea.com/book/kcm/kcm3.htm#sml32Wouldn't wonder if there's more than one Wario Land manga. The Super Mario-Kun series also include issues based on Wario Land. Why does only Japan get them? Thanks man. Those were the manga I was talking about. Remember when nobody knew what the official art was for Captain Syrup? Haha, apparently Japan had it all this time. Anyways, I'm still iffy on whether that's Syrup or not. It totally needs to be, but the Japanese Nintendo site has yet to add anything on Wario Land. I hate this new Nintendo policy of not showing anything until the game is basically finished :/

That first manga has Mario using Wario's power-ups in the Wario Land issue, and apparently they always considered Mario and DK part of the same universe, because Mario appears in the Donkey Kong Country issue.

Because DKC came out last week, right?

But Mario Kart came before DKC. Not to mention DK started in the Mario franchise (or vise versa).

They both sprung from the same source. DK was relegated to cameos in Mario games till Rare was given the OK to build a franchise around the character.

People tend to forget that Donkey Kong '94 was the first appearance of the tied DK design. So, he was part of the Mario universe from the beginning. Now, it wasn't until Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour that the DKU and the Mario U collided properly with Diddy Kong's appearance, solidifying that they occupy the same world.

Big flaw now is that Paon showed us via Barrel Blast that DK's world is much more realistic. It's Earth. I'm gonna go and say this could mean Mario did go to Brooklyn and perhaps the DK trilogy took place on DK Island as a vacation at a half-constructed Big Ape City.

I always liked the idea that the construction site in Donkey Kong was Big Ape City pre-construction. DK's Jungle Vine put out the theory waaay back in 2000 or '99 and I've ran with it since.

That's the most logical choice. DK 94 supports it with the City stage being parts of the city beyond construction and being near a jungle. Most likely Mario and Pauline took a trip to DK Island on a cruise or something. DK's Jungle Parkway Cruise?

I can't tell. The topic drifted away from original intent quicker than a new-age Simpsons episode.

Ahem anyway, this is great news! Syrup has returned! That must be Syrup. I'm filled with joy, I really am.
It's scary how close to being released this is though.
