Ingame shots look all animey too, but who cares. It's Wario in a 2D platformer. On a console. Big chance I'll end up buying this one. Couldn't care less about Syrup, but people have been requesting for her to return a lot so hooray for you people

I guess a reason for animey look is becuase it's on a console. Rather then make the game have super crazy visual, they give it a stylized look, which would create a selling point for the game.
Sorry for my crazy mombo jumbo.

Eh, I'm already turned off on it. So far, this game doesn't look too appealing to me. It'd be better on a handheld (just my opinion).

Yeah. but a handheld could never support animated cutscenes. I use this as a counterpoint because you're an artistic racist.

Now I'm more awake and looked at the screens a lot more. In depth opinions.
Style is PERFECT. Keeps the Wario style but adds moder anime feel.
SYRUP'S BACK SYRUP'S BACK SYRUP'S BACK TOLD YOU GUYS
I'm also very interested in who the gruff seadog and the pirate-ess in distress are. Latter makes me think of Princess Shokora.
Yokoi would be smiling... this is WARIO LAND, the way it's meant to make a comeback.

This game has far surpassed any and all of my expectations. I can die happy now. My absolutely FAVORITE Marioverse character has finally been revived.

I just want a Super Mario and Yoshi's Island revival in the same manner as this now. Then I will die happy.

Alternatively, it might be to please people from Japan. They might play the game too, you know. I'm a bit surprised Anyway, they just posted that it's being done by Production I.G. Previous work in games includes the Tales series and Ghost in the Shell series. Yeah. but a handheld could never support animated cutscenes. I use this as a counterpoint because you're an artistic racist. Um... I think you're mistaken... Seriously, did you even think when you wrote that Production I.G. also did the animation for the Professor Layton games. (I feel like I just hit two birds with one stone with this post). ;D

Well as for the anime-thing go, im not so happy about, I usually classified Wario and his pals in the videogame cartoon genre, except for princess Shokora of course. Although I'm still glad It's still animated cutscene regardless of the style. Does any of you classify Warioware characters in the anime genre btw?, cus the New Girl (the lower left) kinda looks Warioware- ish to me (not that it matters, I just wanna see opinions related to this ) But as for the screen shots, including the return of Captain Syrup, yeah I'm definitely getting this game! As for the way they look like on screen, looks very like the "Kirby Animated series" to me.

Love the Revolver Ocelot sig, man. "I've had enough of your judo!"
I always pictured a Wario cartoon being done in either the late 90's/current anime feel with a touch of Wario-ness (captured here), or in the style of Earthworm Jim. WarioWare, I saw as pseudo-American, if they did a cartoon for it it'd be western styled with Japanese touches, since that's what I get from a bunch of the characters (Dribble&Spitz, 9-Volt, Crygor)

I always pictured Wario's world to be like Ren & Stimpy. That would've guaranteed a buy for me. But as Man-Frog put it, I'm an artistic racist. I kinda like the sound of that

Well the characters of Wario Ware have always had an anime influence. Hell some of Mario's human characters have had a sorta-anime influence. You guys gotta remember, Wario is Japanese. Human characters are gonna look like this. Especially females.

As for the pseudo American style, yeah thats exactly what i thought, towards the art, cartoony, yet with a dash of japanese. Well the characters of Wario Ware have always had an anime influence. You guys gotta remember, Wario is Japanese. Human characters are gonna look like this. Especially females. Hmm, I completely agree with you towards the anime influence , due to the fact it was made in japan. But as for Wario being japanese, thats false because his voice in the japanese versions of Warioware and , Wario world remain to be english, with only japanese subtitles acting as translation, same goes with Mario, the only exception to this is Ashley from Warioware, her voice is the only one in japanese, even Kat and Ana's voice is english. "You guys gotta remember, Wario is Japanese" Its more like Wario is a japanese game, with non japanese characters, like Avatar is an english animated series that have asian characters for example ;D Well for me Warioware characters in my opinion do not look japanese except for Young cricket, who is of chinese/ japanese heritage( judging by how he dresses), and ashley ( japanese styled anime eyes, plus her true voice). And for Wanda, she looks very warioware compatible actually judging by how she looks(the round eyes, nose, and her smile). additionally Mona looks italian to me( her non anime eyes, round nose, classic grin, italian hair style when wearing her helmet) , Kat and Ana (being ninjas) are obviously Asian, but them looking japanese is not as heavy compared to Cricket ( due to the anime eyes) but thats my opinion again. and lastly for Mario human characters, yep it's true they look japanese, but some also look non japanese, like Gene for example I'm just ranting about all these artistic stuff, because although I really like the Anime style, its just nice to take a break with cartoony styled characters of the Marioverse.
