Wario Land: The Shake Dimension

Wheee, Maple Syrup is really in! And those cutscenes look nice, too. I don't have something against the anime style, but I also thought "looks like the typical anime girl" after I saw that captured girl.

I wonder why the story hasn't been translated into English so far by someone? Or at least the names for that girl and the bearded one?

BTW, I always wanted a (new) Marioverse related anime series. Hopefully this will also come true some day, the Wario anime scenes surely will sweeten the waiting time.

Though I sometimes read comments like that about Mona, I never figured out what makes her that Italian. Only because of serving Italian food, driving a scooter and saying "Ciao"? That's not Italy only. She even doesn't speak with Italian accent, unlike Wario. In the last WarioWare game, she "is" even rather "American" (cheerleader for American Football) and "Chinese" (wearing cheongsam and working at an Chinese restaurant) than "Italian". And does anyone know what her skimpy original outfit is supposed to be (which I don't like that much)? And what people wear clothes like that?

Yeah I agree, a Marioverse animated series would be an extremely good thing, the animated cutscenes wario land shake will provide will be awesome despite what animation style is being used.

As for Mona being Italian, i didn't mean to say she was Italian, she just had an Italian look to her, is all.

But more importantly, you really have an eye for detail, you noticed the "ciao" she always uses in game manuals and in game, as well as her being in Italian surroundings( Wario, Pizza Joe, etc). I actually posted somethings similarly in Mariowiki forums, only to get bashed by it's surrounding members due to one guy promoting that every single character was italian in the marioverse.

As for her original outfit, i love it, because it gives her a unique look compared to many other typical female characters you usually see in different cartoons/ shows. Additionally it really represents her being one of Wario's friends, and shows that she likes "weird stuff"( her description in Warioware Inc mega microgames, party games) and her taste in strange things, and her personality being culturaly sawy to boot.

And as for her original outfit, what it is you say? I think its some fashion thing, mainly the fur coat, something fabio would wear

Oh, I thought I read that word somewhere, but it doesn't seem to exist (English isn't my native language). I actually meant something like "skimpy". The unusual look fits her personality, but personally, I find it too skimpy, but everyone to its own. I like Twisted and Touched outfit best. Doesn't mean that I'd hate her original outfit or wouldn't like the character with this outfit, I just don't like it that much.

Here's a translation of the story

STORY
Within an Ancient Globe (an old, giant globe exhibited at a museum), there is another world called Yuretopia (translator: “yure” = tremor/shaking). Yuretopia’s peace is shattered by the marauding pirate Shay King (translator: whatever). Queen Melfull and her Melfull subjects are imprisoned. Not only that, Shay King claims the legendary treasure “Deldel Purse,” which spits out coins whenever it is shaken. Captain Maple Syrup, the female pirate, observes Yuretopia’s crisis from the outside world. Setting her eyes on the legendary treasure but with no desire of doing the dirty work herself, she steals the Ancient Globe and sends it to Wario. True to form, Wario prepares to raid the beleaguered kingdom when Queen Melfull escapes to the outside world in hopes of finding help. Beseeched by the Queen to become a hero to the kingdom, Wario sets off to Yuretopia where the promise of vast treasures beckons...

This game is getting pretty interesting, now I need to see some game play screen shots.
And Syrup returning its the biggest Mario comeback since the return of Daisy hope she stays.

Flip, you know as well as I do that every rivalry in the Marioverse eventually turns into getting invited over to Peach's to play baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, and go karting. You know Peach would not be kidnapped as often if they stopped inviting Bowser over to party hearty! Heck, even K. Rool got invited to play Baseball now. 10-1 odds Captain Syrup only got revived because K. Rool is itching to play Tennis and he needs a doubles partner.

Another note about Mona being Italian. In the original Wario Ware, she worked at an ice cream place called the Gelateria. Gelato is a type of Italian ice cream.

The story sounds a bit confusing at the moment, but I'm sure it'll all become clear once I play the game.

As for Syrup being revived so that she can be a counterpoint for K. Rool, it would not the ideal situation, but I'll take what I can get.

Syrup would make a good doubles partner for Mona. If they need a partner for K. Rool, I'm sure one of those Barrel Blast Kremlings would be glad to oblige.

Yeah agreed, although I highly doubt Mona will be in any Mario spin off games soon,

give her another 5 years, then she will be in ( theory based on Diddy kong starring in Spin offs after 10 years of his debut, and Syrup reappearing after 10 years of her debut) since Warioware alredy has 5 years of lifespan.

But remember that it's Namco who brought all these characters back. And if it wasn't Namco, it was Squeenix. Camelot basically follows what Nintendo's doing as far as rosters go. So I would expect Rosalina and Funky to pop up in the next Tennis/Golf before Syrup, K. Rool, or Kritter.

That being said, if Nintendo DOES make a new Mario spinoff that does have Syrup and other new faces, then all's fair. I just don't see them actually utilizing ANY of the Wario cast for another couple of years. The DK characters have been around a bit longer and, if not that, they at least are popping up in their own spinoff titles. That series has been pretty stagnant for a long time and Nintendo must know how popular it has become outside of Japan, hence the DK inclusions. Wario is still one of those franchises that's more niche than Yoshi and DK and so it will take some time to add the obvious choices (and waaay awesome to boot).

Here's crossing my fingers, though, for Mona, Syrup, and 9-Volt to appear in Tennis and Golf for Wii. They're the only ones that haven't been "updated" or hit their "one per console" quota on the Wii.

Actually, I don't think Camelot will make a new Golf game in the Mario Franchise for Wii, as they made We Love Golf for Capcom. However, I do think they are making a Golden Sun game for the Wii.
