TEi, all of Megaman 8's bosses were awesome! Aquaman (Lol!), Clownman, Astroman & Tenguman (so awesome they became the first Megaman bosses to be in more than one game!) Coldman, Sniperman and Swordman were some of the best designed enemies in the series. Megaman 7 wasn't to shabby either. [Huge Megaman Nerd]Frostman and Searchman rather than Coldman (a Robot Master from Megaman & Bass, not to be confused with Frostman - who looks more like a giant, armored Frosty the Snowman) and Sniperman (although if I remember right, Searchman's missiles were called Sniper-somethings and could home in on enemies). But yes. MM8 has some of my favorite Robot Masters. Grenademan and his awful engrish is win any day in my book! ;D "SAY HELLO TO MY FEW BOMBS."
Also, the MM Anniversary Collection version of MM8 is indeed the PS1 version of the game; the only other version was released only in Japan on the Sega Saturn, which wasn't too different from its PS1 cousin; the only changes came in the fact that Cutman and Woodman appeared as mini-bosses in the middle, generic-action stage and Searchman's stage respectively. You only got a bolt for defeating each, rather than a Robot Master weapon...but on the plus side, Capcom did remix Cutman and Woodman's themes using the MM8-styled ambient synth, which was likewise awesome. Oh, and the MMAC version, for some inexplicable reason, has the first four Robot Masters' voices raised up several octaves too high. Not entirely sure why that is, but it's obnoxious XD
And while Astroman and Tenguman have been the first two Robot Masters to appear as traditional bosses twice over in a Classic Megaman game (if you exclude MMPU), don't forget that the MM2 Robot Masters kind of appeared in MM3 as subbosses, and again how Cutman and Woodman were subbosses in Rockman 8. [/Huge Megaman Nerd]
Apologies to everyone, I'm not being corrective to be a dick or anything. I'm just trying to be informative, instead of just outright offensive for once. ;D

I actually prefer the Robot Masters design of the games previous to MM7 the simplicity of their designs was a full win for me, after that they started to get into MMX levels of complexity.

Not so much for MM8... Yeah, Searchman's missles were called sniper something, hence my misnaming of him. I loved how the fire weapon worked on him! How did I forget Grenademan though? Indeed. But none of them were end of level Robot Masters. If you're counting them, remember Gutsman was a tank (literally )in Megaman 2. And as you said, Cutman and Woodman were only in the Saturn version. In between that and Castlevania: Nocturne in the Moonlight, what's with the Saturn getting these enhanced ports?
No worries!

I love the original Mega Man series. To me, I haven't been able to get all that into the other MM games that I've played to the same degree as the originals. I like the universe a lot. So I do hope that this is true.

Nobody's posted the rumors on this game yet? Oy.... Here we go: -Game will be the 9th entry in the Classic series and NOT go into the X games as far as plot is concerned. -MM9 will be a multiplatform game. Retail for Wii, but XBLA and PSN for the other two consoles. -Graphics will be stylized "8-bit," whatever that means. -Mega Man and Proto Man are your two playable characters, each with branching storylines. Enjoy the rumor mongering

Basically the game'll be a tribute to classic NES Megaman. These rumours got me syked like hell. This better not be some fake 4chan shit like that goofy E3 rumour.

No, this is stuff that's been all over. GoNintendo reported the graphics, but the rest of these major sites (Kotaku, IGN, 1-Up, etc.) are reporting the other stuff. Now it may all be the same source, but still: good news if it's true!

Stylized 8bit... sounds interesting to say the least. Lets hope it looks as good as it sounds.

I feel all Fuzzy inside, Capcom, this better be Cave Story quality. Using Nes graphics is no excuse to keep Nes slowdown, flickering and other problems (take a clue on Four Swords adventures, i want something like that)

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU...!!!They even kept the cliche 'Dr. Wily is at it again!' plot If they want to surpass MM2 they just need to hire the guy who wrote that game's music. This game pretty much surpassed Starcraft 2 of game I'm looking most forward to right now, already.
