The OFLC has rated Mega Man 9 which hasn't even been announced yet! What could this mean? The first proper Mega Man game since the PS1 and Saturn days? The final game before Mega Man X? Or simply a mistitling of a Rockman & Bass port? Unusual!

Interesting. Mega Man & Bass has been mislabeled as Mega Man 9 before (by fans), but I don't think a ratings board would make that mistake. Very mysterious.
E3 is just over a month away, so who knows what it means.

A revival of the Classic Series... yeah, that'd be cool.

The first proper Mega Man game since the PS1 and Saturn days? Tcha! Do not be so quick to discount Megaman Powered Up. ;D Trust me, that was a proper Megaman game through and Through.
But anyway! The prospect of a Megaman 9 makes me slightly giddy...I hope this is a new entry into the Classic franchise and not some mistranslation. Fingers crossed for positive news!

It looks awesome (not awesome enough to purchase a PSP for, but hey). But it is still a remake of Mega Man 1, so falls into that pile of "Hey, at least they didn't forget the old series - now where's my new entry, Capcom?"

About time after 4 shitty spin-offs. I wonder what kind of ROBOT MASTERS they could still make up while not ripping off older ones though. They already have 3 ice and fire men...

About time after 4 hoboty spin-offs. I wonder what kind of ROBOT MASTERS they could still make up while not ripping off older ones though. They already have 3 ice and fire men... Well, I mean - really, what Robot Master is completely original anymore? Pretty much all of them share their element or weapon theme with another one at this point. And since I've been meaning to make a list like this for ages, because I'm bored, here's the similarities for you:
Sharp 'n Pointies: Cutman Metalman Needleman Shadowman Tomahawkman Yamatoman Slashman Swordman Tenguman (MM&B version)
Earth/Rocks: Gutsman Stoneman Groundman
Ice/Freezing: Iceman Blizzardman Freezeman Frostman Coldman
Explosives: Bombman Crashman Drillman Napalmman Burstman Grenademan Searchman Pirateman
Fire: Fireman Heatman Napalmman Flameman Turboman Swordman Burnerman
Electricity: Elecman Sparkman Brightman Cloudman Clownman Dynamoman
Time Control: Timeman Flashman Centaurman
Air/Wind: Airman Gyroman Windman Tenguman (MM8 version)
Water: Bubbleman Toadman Diveman Waveman Burstman Aquaman Pirateman
Boomerang Types: Cutman Quickman Ringman Magicman
Wood/Nature: Woodman Snakeman Plantman
Homing Types: Magnetman Diveman
Shield Types: Woodman Skullman Starman Junkman
Shotgun Types: Crystalman Dustman
Lazer Types: Geminiman Pharaohman Shadowman
Melee Modifiers: Topman Chargeman
Heavy Hitters: Hardman Knightman
Guys I can't sort: Oilman Gravityman Astroman
So, really - only three Robot Masters stand out as truly unique. Even then Astroman and Gravityman share that kind of space/physics connection. I'm not sure about you, though, but the similar themes and weapons never actually bothered me.

I'm not bothered by it, but having so many freeze/fire/water men just seems kinda lazy compared to a lot of the others. It's more of a theme thing, sure Clownman has electric attacks but he's got... well a Clown theme going on.
Basically: Refrigerator Man who shoots ice cubes in kitchen level = Woot Chill Man who shoots ice cubes in a slippery ice zone = Dull
I like Heatman though because he's basically a giant lighter. e: Good lord whatever you do don't do GIS on heatman

Not to keep foiling you or anything. Just that Coldman is farking ossum.[/u][/color]

TEi, all of Megaman 8's bosses were awesome! Aquaman (Lol!), Clownman, Astroman & Tenguman (so awesome they became the first Megaman bosses to be in more than one game!) Coldman, Sniperman and Swordman were some of the best designed enemies in the series. Megaman 7 wasn't to shabby either.

Seven and eight are the only ones I didn't actually play. Maybe I should import the collection for the Cube already, those two are on it right?
