Dragon Quest X (ten) . . . First footage via Livestream . . . RIGHT NOW!EDIT: It's over . . . Details from GAFDetails: - First internally developed DQ game at Square Enix - Produced by Yosuke Saito (NIER) and directed by Jin Fujisawa (DQ8, DQ9) - Online RPG for Wii and WiiU (possibly MMO-lite like?) - The Wii version will be released in 2012 in Japan, no date for WiiU version - The WiiU version will have much better graphics, but the world will be the same - The opening movie is by Square Visual Works - The game takes place in a world with 5 continents, and 5 different races/tribes living in them - Massive world and story that builds on the foundations of DQ9's ideas - Visible equipment - For those who play alone there will be NPCs who can be recruited into the party and driven by AI - There are battle transitions, and the combat commands at menu based, but the player only controls his/her character - The Wii game supports Wiimote+Nunchuck, Classic Controller, Classic Controller Pro, as well as USB Keyboards - The Wii game will use both the game disc as well as USB memory storage - There could be a feature where characters can be transferred onto the 3DS and shared with other players using Streetpass I saw some footage from the livestream, wasn't really impressed from what I saw, but maybe I just need to see clearer footage.

Think this will come out in North America, or only Japan, Europe and Australia? Commence Operation: Slimefall!

I'd be very, very surprised if DQX didn't come out here.
That said, Operation Slimefall is too awesome a name to pass.

Im really pumped for this game, DQ 9 was amazing and seemed like a middle step towards online gaming, so I do have hopes for this.

Two Aliens: Infestation dev diaries. blogs.sega.com/2011/09/08/aliens-infestation-developer-diary-wayforward-explains-all/www.gearboxity.com/content/view/745/33/Another important aspect to our game is how the story is actually conveyed to the player. We wanted every Marine to have an individual personality and unique point of view, but didn't want them to all be cheesy stereotypes either. First off, they had to be Marines. We wanted them to always sound like Marines when they spoke, regardless of whether they were the brave hero or the scared new guy. I created bios for the 19 Marines and wrote the entire game's dialog from the point of view of one Marine, the archetypical hero John "Duke" Cameron. Then I re-wrote it all again (every line) from another Marine's view. Then another. And another... I gave our team bios and templates and they helped write the dialog for even more Marines.
In the end we produced 19 full dialog scripts. That's gotta be some kinda record, right? The result of all that work was a story that could be told from so many perspectives, changing based on who you were playing at any moment, that you could play the game 50 times and it would never quite be the same experience. Also this little point . . . There's also a hidden, unlockable minigame that hearkens back to a very iconic scene from the film (just picture Bishop and a stylus, and you get the idea)I think I know what it is . . . (Linking it for the sake of not spoiling it).

Good news! Rayman Origins is released this week! And in slightly bad news . . . Well, I'll let this copy/pasted article from Jim Sterling of Destructoid sum it up. Because it does it so damn well.Rayman Origins sales could affect Beyond Good & Evil 2
According to Ubisoft, the commercial performance of Rayman Origins could help get Beyond Good & Evil 2 developed quicker, with sales VP Tony Key stating more sales would give creator Michel Ancel more freedom.
"Ultimately, Rayman is [Ancel's] original creation, and if all the people that love Beyond Good & Evil understand he is more than a one trick pony ... and that if Rayman: Origins does well, it gives him more leeway for other opportunities because he has to build up his studio," explained Key when asked by Industry Gamers. "Just like how Beyond Good & Evil had a whimsical style but included gameplay for adults, Rayman: Origins will appeal to more than just younger gamers.
"Beyond Good & Evil HD is doing very well on PSN and Xbox Live and there's a lot of people coming back, and if they choose to do a sequel the audience is bigger than before."
So let me get this straight, Ubisoft. You're going to release Rayman Origins in the same month as Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. You're going to release it on the same day as Saints Row: The Third, and just before Skyward Sword ... and you're telling us that its fucking sales performance may be used as a measuring stick?
Fuck you.
Oh, and while I have you -- stop using Beyond Good & Evil 2 as a hostage to try and generate sales of other games. It's pretty damn obvious and about as tasteless as a baby with a boob job. Thank you Mr Sterling. EDIT: Name typo fixed.

Beyond Good & Evil 2? What's that? /trollface But honestly, I couldn't care for it as of now. Still a dick move to do. Also, there's a typo on Jim's surname
I'm-a still gunna buy this game if the reviews are good. I just freakin' love the art style and how the characters seem to be having so much fun. I've played some Raymans in the past, but none of them ever felt so much fun to play as this one seems to look like.

I read that, too, and yes, it's annoying. *sigh* We know Ancel is waiting for next gen to roll around anyway, so this appears to be another case of UBI Soft's execs knowing diddly squat about what's going on.
Anyway...Rayman Origins is fun, if the demo's anything to go by.

Here's some surprising (and good!) news. According to Gamasutra, Ubisoft mentioned during a conference call that despite initial low sales, Rayman Origins has, in fact, been profitable! They also think that it will go on to be a "long-term seller." The game is also scheduled for release on 3DS, PS Vita, and PC (via retail and Steam). I still think this is one of the best 2D platform games of all-time, and you, as Nintendo fans, should all go buy it (because you would love it).

I'm gonna get it on 3DS...or Vita...probably Vita since it's gonna be HD. Did you ever get around to playing the first 2 Rayman's?

I starting to think this is going to be said eventually . . . ". . . oh sorry we made enough money to cover Rayman: Origins but now your gotta buy "X" Ubisoft game to get us to make BG&E2 . . ."(And then repeat with "Y" Ubisoft game and so on . . .) EDIT: Dtoid reviewed R:O (Vita) and give it a good review, sadly this version doesn't support multiplayer. www.destructoid.com/review-rayman-origins-vita--221701.phtml
