I thought there should be a thread like this should be made for the 3rd party games section. Hopefully Fry will sticky this. Okay just the game annoucements thread in the "Contempory Nintendo" section, this is to post new info about 3rd party games before they get there own thread. Call of Duty: World at War.Yes, an FPS is coming to the Wii! Trailer. The developers are also saying it will be the best shooter on the Wii and have confirmed co-op and multiplayer support and Zapper support. Source.Star Wars Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels.A Star Wars game coming exclusivly to the Wii and DS that will allow you to fight against each other with Lightsabers. I think the graphics are in the same style of the upcoming 3-D animated Clone Wars movie. Trailer.

I'll go ahead and sticky it, but I don't understand why we need it. If you feel like talking about a particular game, why not just start a thread for it? Otherwise, what's the point of bringing it up at all?

Yeah, we need more 3rd party threads.
But we can use this for minor games, I guess...

I'm all for having a stickied announcements page, but actual discussion needs to go elsewhere. I guess it all depends on how active the third party coverage is in the coming months.

Excluding the NinDB Site News board, the Third Party Games board has fewer threads than all but the Fan Art/Fic Board, and fewer overall posts than any board. It's almost caught up with the Cameos/Easter Eggs Board, tho.
It's sad. It's like an unloved child. Discussion on third party games just doesn't seem to take off unless it's an argument about Sonic games.

Well, I did kind of put my Bomberman thread on hold, but nobody really posted there.

^ What can I say? Fight the good fight. I usually have to carry the threads I create, too.

This game should interest the ones with Wi-Fi connection. Gauntlet "Gauntlet for the Nintendo DS is a feature rich game that stays true to the retro gameplay of the original arcade coin-op while boasting an updated look, additional attacks and powers, and a new Experience-based combat system. Players will encounter punishing onslaughts of 32 different enemy types, including a cadre of completely original monsters as well as fan favorites such as Skeletons, Thief and even Death. Scattered throughout the maps players acquire amazing pickups to assist on their journey – from Bait that attracts nearby monsters to the Glacier Freeze potion that temporarily freezes the hordes of enemies around them. With local and Wi-Fi support for four-player cooperative play, as well as three ranked competitive multiplayer modes, Gauntlet on the Nintendo DS is a revitalized tribute to an all time classic game. * The Classic Heroes Return – The Warrior, Valkyrie, Elf and Wizard return, complete with 8 different colors, each with individual strengths and weaknesses, and an exclusive set of 4 Power Moves that are earned throughout Story Mode. * Massive Cooperative Story Mode Campaign – Travel as a lone Hero, or with up to 3 companions via local or Wi-Fi play, through 40 maps across 3 realms. Begin in Ascendia high in the clouds and finish your epic journey in the bowels of the lava-ridden Abyss. * Experience Based Combat System - Seek out gold to increase your hero’s fame level, strengthen their projectile attacks, and unlock 4 power moves for each character. Join a friend’s game and gain experience, and then take the same enhanced character into your own single player game. * Ranked Competitive Multiplayer – Compete locally or through Wi-Fi in Death Match, Team Death Match and Treasure Hoard game modes, a first ever for the Gauntlet universe! View your rankings in Death Match and Treasure Hoard through your Nintendo DS. * Captivating Audio and Graphics – Full 3D on both screens creates beautiful, immersive maps which are complimented by original scores of dramatic orchestral music. * Microphone over Wi-Fi – Communicate with other players with VoIP using the Nintendo DS microphone! Taken from Nintendo.com's game page. Nice to see a game like this, is infact possible on the Nintendo DS.

Keep going with it! It's busier in here now... you're winning!! ;D

I hope for the Nintendo DS they release "Intellivision Lives!". That is what I'm looking forward to. The only problem is that the company (I forgot the name) hasn't found a publisher yet.

So apparently a new Adventure Island's in the works, 'probably' coming to WiiWare. Megaman 9, Bionic Commando Re-armed, Street Fighter 4 and now this ... this is the year of the revival of old franchises and I friggen love it.

(Well MM9, BC RA and SF4, I think Hudson makes Adventure Island).

Yeah Hudson owns Adventure Island, I just think it's rad when old games get a sequel.
All that's left is an official announcement for the supposed Skies of Arcadia sequel that's in the works.

Hudson did a bunch of 3D remakes on Gamecube in Japan a couple years back. I wonder if these will be ports of those. They also did Star Soldier and Lode Runner.
