A better question is who honestly thinks we are getting Brawl DLC? Because we aren't. And we never will.

Who said you ever had to pay for the DLC? This is true, but it removes the monetary motivation for Nintendo to DO it. I think Brawl is great except for tripping.

Who said you ever had to pay for the DLC? This is true, but it removes the monetary motivation for Nintendo to DO it. That's true too. Although, it might attract some buyers. Maybe. Not a heck of a lot, but still possible. Really, it can happen. All Nintendo has to do is ask Sakurai to make some. It's a question of whether or not they will.

Won't happen.
You have to remember, that in smash brothers, there's alot more to a character than JUST the character.
They bring with them, many animations and details that would be impossible to implement after the game's been released. I don't think it would be possible to add new codec conversations to snake... or a new transformation for Kirby.... it would drastically change the game's trophy collection (because if you add a character, that character needs at least their own trophy...) Along with many other small details that would possibly make it impossible for a new character to be included.
And even so, let's say they figured out a way to include EVERYTHING into a new character when you download them... like a new victory theme, announcer sound effect and EVERYTHING that else goes with it... you know that character will still be treated like a second class character compared to everybody else. They'll probably only be playable in VS. mode, since included them in the other modes would require drastic changes to the game's code. (All-star mode for example)
Now that's all well and good, I mean, at least they'll be THERE... but it's still not going to make everybody happy. Remember Soul Calibur 2? Remember how you could only use Lizardman in VS... and he had no movelist... no profile.... no ending... I wasn't even sure I wanted him there if he wasn't going to be treated like everyone else. If they did the same for Mewtwo... sure i'd be happy at first, but I know eventually I'd still be pissed that the character isn't FULLY implemented into Smash Brothers.
This is all hypothetical anyway... since we can be sure that it won't happen. For technical reasons, business reasons... and historically... Nintendo's never really done anything like that before.
The real CAPCOM-ish answer would be.... a little bit down the road... we hear news of "SUPER SMASH BROTHERS BRAWL REMIX" or something.... the same old game, with some added features, maybe a new character or two and some more tweaks. Give Falco, Wolf and Toon Link new final smashes.... fix a few glitches.... and improve the online maybe. With fighting games... this is ALWAYS the answer to make people happy... since they never get it right the first time. But Nintendo fans know... Nintendo rarely does anything like that. I know I'd buy it though... if it had more assist trophies, pokemon, characters and just MORE MORE MORE... hell... I'd bite. I'm a sucker. I've done it before.
My point is, DLC is not the answer. We can safely count that out. A re-release is also very unlikely... so just enjoy Smash Brothers Brawl the way it is, because it's all we're going to have for a long long time.

Yes but still, there where many interesting characters that should have been in as playable characters, like Porky, Ridley (you can size him down, he wasnt that big in METROID on the NES), Golden Sun characters, Ashley, heck. even Japan only characters like DeMille, Takamaru, Staffy (as a playable), Skapon... what the heck, maiby even more 3rd part, like Snake and Ocelot, Sonic (with more interesting costumes) and Tails, Megaman and Zero. There are so many, and true, there are interesting things that could be added to the game system. Heck maiby a character creator, or an Adventure mode Stage creator... The return of the N64 stages, heck, the return of EVERYTHING...

The following post isn't against sizing down Ridley for a playable character in a future SSB game (it worked for Bowser) but instead just pointing out a retcon of the character. No offense to you Rukifellth but this has to be pointed out. Ridley's (and Kraid's) small (Samus like) size in the original Metroid has been retconned out of the Metroid games, it was replaced by Ridley from Metroid: Zero Mission who is off the proper Ridley size (as in that's about the same size as all the other Ridley's in the other Metroid games like SM and MP and others for example). I assume the only reason he was so small would have been that a large version of him would have been more complicated to do/make and would probably look really bad as well. Also a I think quite a few bosses have changed size since there original NES days. Wasn't Bowser like twice the height of Super Mario in Super Mario Bros and now he is like 3 times his height in SMG?

rukifellth, all 157 of your posts have the word "Demille" in them.
One track mind, or insane fantasizer...?

There are so many, and true, there are interesting things that could be added to the game system. Heck maiby a character creator, or an Adventure mode Stage creator... The return of the N64 stages, heck, the return of EVERYTHING... Two things from this post. Just general things from this post. 1)A lot of Japanese only characters isn;t usually great. Some of the older ones are fine (and I'm looking mostly at Takamaru and Sakupon). I wouldn't like a heck of a lot of them; there is a reason they never left Japan. Stafy, for instance, is a little generic. He doesn't have much that stands him out. It's also generally that there are better choices. 2)Third Parties. One of the things I hate is having someone post this roster and 50% or more is third party characters. Heck, if it's more then 10%, it's pushing it. Everyone magically forgot this is a Nintendo fighting game. The Snake thing was like "Hey, lets add this characters into Brawl. Wouldn't it be fun to play as him". Not "Holy **** let's add Megaman, and Simon, and Bomberman, and Rayman, and Knuckles and Gray Fox and blah blah blah. Let's get back to reality, Sonic barely get in. Sonic, of all people, made it by the skin of his teeth. He was the most popular character worldwide by a long shot. Megaman and Sora could hardly touch the bottom of the barrel, and if only because Megaman got popular AFTER Sonic got in. It's just annoys me that people don't understand that this is a Nintendo fighting game. Sorry for the rant. But I must ask, why Ashely? Why do people even consider her in the running? Did I miss something?

Same people who consider Daisey and Waluigi I wager.
You can bet your ass IGN will make more huge lists of third party characters when ssb4 is announced in the far far future, only to be disappointed when 1 or 2 get in.

I was gonna mention the point about Ashley being in over other (and better) WW characters in my last post.
I would say, people thought she should appear because of Ashley's Song appearing in the game. But then that means all those people forgot about Mike's Song and the Mona Pizza Song.
But I personally beilieve no other WW characters need to get in.

Like you wrote here: fryguy64.proboards27.com/index.cgi?board=ssb&action=display&thread=2933I really like you idea with that 'Critical Brawl', but I just don't think anything like that will happen. You are right that it would take a long time to code a character as they would need all these things: Motions 1.[ ]Idle 2.[ ]Walk 3.[ ]Run/dash 4.[ ]Jump 5.[ ]Fall 6.[ ]Land 7.[ ]Damage 8.[ ]Knock Back 9.[ ]Get Up 10.[ ]Dead 11.[ ]Hang 12.[ ]Crouch 13.[ ]Taunt 14.[ ]Win 15.[ ]Lose 16.[ ]Entrance Smashes 17.[ ]Neutral 18.[ ]Combo 19.[ ]Up Smash 20.[ ]Down Smash 21.[ ]Foward Smash 22.[ ]Dash Attack Specials 23.[ ]Neutral Special 24.[ ]Up Special 25.[ ]Down Special 26.[ ]Foward Special Aireals 27.[ ]Neutral Aireal 28.[ ]Foward Aireal 29.[ ]Back Aireal 30.[ ]Up Aireal 31.[ ]Down Aireal Grabs 32.[ ]Nuetral grab 33.[ ]Forward throw 34.[ ]Downward throw 35.[ ]Upward throw 36.[ ]Back throw Other 37.[ ]FINAL SMASH 38.[ ] Roll 39.[ ]Stock Icon 40.[ ]Series icon 41.[ ]Kirby Attack 42.[ ]Selection 43.[ ]preview 44.[ ]trophies 45.[ ]block 46.[ ]revival platform 47.[ ]item swinging 48.[ ]item throwing PLUS! They would need sound effects, victory tune AND don't forget the amazing Brawl graphics. Just too much.

I'm near definite we will see Takamaru and Little Mac in the next Smash. It's like Pit and Wario for Brawl--there's no use not including them this time around. They are CLEARLY going to be popular enough with the fans by this point.

How exactly do you figure that? Because they appeared, no doubt among a bunch of other obscure characters, in a most likely one region only niche Wii game?
