w00t! I loved both previous games, and look forward to this one. I'm sure it'll play great on the Wii.

Oh. Pikmin 3. I love the Pikmin games, but it's hardly blockbuster material What I see is Nintendo standing back (with their bajillions of dollars) and letting the third parties steal the show. Unfortunately... outside of Capcom's Xbox remake Dead Rising, and 8 bit sequel Mega Man 9... I am not particularly excited about many of the third party Wii games either. Only Capcom "gets it" and is successfully exploiting this system's benefits. Ubi isn't far behind.

Nintendo's E3 is all about the casual. Seriously, I really think it's a bit over blown. No, it isn't. Nintendo focused on the casual market, there's no way to deny it. Animal Crossing is not a hardcore game and Nintendo knows it, they are just deflecting criticism. Yes, we got Mario, Metroid, Mario Kart and Smash Bros (Zelda? Don't tell me you're counting the Zapper bundle-in). That was, however, last year. You can't live in the past an expect to appeal to hardcore gamers. HEY YOU DON'T NEED A NEW F-ZERO YOU GOT ONE LAST GEN LOL. However, that being said, Nintendo doesn't need to care. For every one of us complaining on the internet, theres 10 people in the world who will go out and buy Wii Sports 2 (for the record I will too, in fact I'd rather a WS2 than the majority of announcements they could make - including this new Pikmin one).

That is one unfortunate truth to the whole thing. We can't simply say that Nintendo forgetting about their core audience will be their undoing. Why should they, as a business, bother making big budget games for Zelda and Mario and so forth when it's cheaper to make Wii Sports 2 and cash in big time?
The Wii has such a stronghold now that they're not going to need to care about us until something happens that causes this paradigm shift to shift back the other way. Hopefully by then I won't have made knitting a new hobby.

Yes, I must say that I'm a bit disappointed. Nintendo really didn't reveal a killer game. It seems like Wii Music was the centerpiece of the presentation, which is fine, but how about throwing a bone to those of us who would rather not play casual games?

I have more to say but I just giot a look at the time and I'm running late. The Zelda game I was talking about was both Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass. I can explain more later if need be.

If they really are developing a new game in the Punch-Out!! series, then it better not just include all of the boxers from the NES Punch-Out!! (excluding Mike Tyson; including Mr. Dream), it should also include all of the boxers from the other three Punch-Out!! games: Punch-Out!! arcade, Super Punch-Out!! arcade and the SNES Super Punch-Out!!.
Along with Little Mac, it should also bring back the two unnamed protagonists from the arcade and SNES versions with names and their own movesets. The green-haired boxer used a right hook and a plain uppercut, while the blonde-haired boxer had the Knockout Punch, the Rapid Punch, the Counter Punch, healing himself after he knocks down an opponent, and powers himself up not only to use his special attacks, but also fight stronger and faster. Little Mac only did a one-two punch and a "☆" uppercut, similar to the green-haired boxer's uppercut, but lifts Little Mac up in the air due to his size being small.
What else the new Punch-Out!! Wii game should include are some songs used in the previous Punch-Out!! games, plus some new ones. It should also include some new boxers and new features.
For the new Kid Icarus Wii game, if it's a remake, then it should be the NES and GB Kid Icarus games remade into one. If it's a new adventure, then that's fine.

Wouldn't that be a bit unbalanced? My vision of a new Punch-Out has all the boxers being playable, each with their own special punch and defensive tactic. Glass-Joe and Gabby Jay would obviously be joke characters.

My vision for a new Punch-Out!! is to screw those ideas because they're completely nothing to do with Punch-Out!!, which is nothing about sport simulation, and everything to do with rote-learning twitch reactions as you pound on racial stereotypes.
I would like to see a whole new line-up of boxers, but for the core gameplay to be maintained from Super Punch-Out!! (easily the biggest highlight of the series). Maybe a few nods to older boxers is welcome.
But this is getting into speculative territory. Clearly E3 was so exciting we're having to invent games that could have been shown in order to maintain any semblance of interest in the medium of Nintendo gaming.
