What's sad is that these debates about Sonic the Hedgehog are the most action the Third Party Games forum gets.
What's even more sad is that this and the PETA thread in the general board are the most action the entire NinDB forum is getting right now.
Are you sure you guys wouldn't rather talk about Deadly Creatures, or Mad World, or Ghostbusters: The Video Game, or something like that?

Check and see if Deadly Creatures has hawt Spider-on-Human action. Otherwise we're all gonna stick with this.

Either way, seeing a black and white person making out is nowhere near as disturbing as seeing a human girl make out with a 3-foot tall cartoony blue thing vaguely resembling a hedgehog. Where were these complaints in the 80s? So I would assume no one here has watched Collegehumor's Toon Tang series about cartoon characters as prostitutes (with real life humans interacting with them). Toon Tang pt 1Toon Tang pt 2

Another problem. The bit in Roger Rabbit was played entirely for humor. The bit in Sonic 2006 is played for serious.

Don't forget about Kermit and Piggy loving each other.

Don't forget about Kermit and Piggy loving each other. That would probably be one of the most well known one. Another good one I can think of is Filburt (the turtle) and Dr Paula Hutchision (the cat with a hook for a hand) in the classic 90's cartoon Rocko's Modern Life. The actual episode they get married has themes of interacial marriage and the quote (from Hutchision's mother) that "turtles and cats don't mix", it is then revealed that Hutchision's father is in fact a turtle (meaning that she is actually half cat/turtle, which also explains why she lays an egg later on in the series). "I'm nauseous, I'm nauseous, I'm nauseous..." A Nintendo one I can think of is the relationship between Falco Lombardi and Katt Monroe in SF64, which even gets brought up in the SFAdv manga.

Yeah, and don't forget that one of Filbert's kids looked like Heffer, possibly implying that Dr. Hutchinson was a slut!

Society sets the standards of what's "weird". I took psychology, and learned that society, and what's "wierd" fall hand-in-hand. In some countries, things that seem totally insane are completely practical. Sonic's world is a different world from ours, therefor the norms are different.

Yeah, and don't forget that one of Filbert's kids looked like Heffer, possibly implying that Dr. Hutchinson was a slut! She didn't have an affair with Heffer, the reason was because Heffer sat on the egg since he had the biggest butt for the job after Filbert realised he couldn't do it. In the end, the kid's body looked life Heffer's, wore Filbert's glasses and seemed to think that Rocko was his mother.

This kind of topic reminds me of a woman marrying a rock, which I read it in a book full of facts. Also, remember this?

Still, the situations mentioned above were played for humor, and they were at least cartoony animals being paired together. In Sonic '06, he was paired with a realistic human girl, in an e ntirely serious manner. Why the hell does it even merit defense?

Why the hell does it even merit defense? That is a very good point. Who in their right mind would defend something so stupid?!
