DSi said SOME things will be region locked. So um. Keep your DS Lite. Or if the changes don't bug you but you wanna play GBA games, go get a GBA SP so you can have the whole library. Since the bongos are hard to find in stores, Jungle Beat will flop for the controls. It better. If there is any hope in the world, people will ask, "Where's Diddy from Super Smash Bros?" Why? A good game is a good game, who the fuck cares if Diddy is in (plus Diddy sucks).

I the wizzle cares if Diddy is in, and If JB were a Mario game, you can bet your Australian ass that everybody on the face of the planet would hate it's guts.
PS: You'd make a phenomenal troll, DiU.

You mean a Mario game that completely goes against everything that's usually seen in a Mario game and introduces a completely new set of characters and enemies in a wildly different standard than what Mario fans expected? I think they called it Super Mario Land. I've never known people to hate its guts.

Super Mario Land still has Mario saving a princess and her kingdom from a big bad guy. And it has Goombas and exploding Koopa Troopas. And it still plays almost exactly like SMB. And it has kickass music.
DKJB has DK beating up fuzzy pigs and giant ears of corn in order to... conquer territory... for no apparent reason. And it's controlled with a drum. And.... that's it. Why does everyone love it so much? It's one of the most shallow and most palm-hurting friggin' games I've ever played. Why is it that I'm not allowed to dislike for these reasons anyway? I mean, Fry said he hated the new Banjo game simply because the art style was "appalling". What's the deal here?

Listen up Man Frog, because I'm about to blooooooow your fucking mind.
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat is no more different to the formula established by the Donkey Kong Country series is than - wait for it, wait for iiiiiiit - the Donkey Kong Country series is to the original Donkey Kong Arcade series. I know, I know, its mind blowing, but its true - games can be good games regardless of whether they follow the standards set by previous entries.

It's odd that DKJB is usually dismissed by the fans for the sole reason it's different then what they are use too. I'd go as far to say it was one, if not, the best platformer in a long while.

And if you really want to talk about a change of direction/ control in the Mario games, just look at Mario Galaxy. Setting? Space. Control? Wiimote.
I never played Jungle Beat, but to me, it looks a lot like Donkey Kong Country.

Except SMG had stuff from past Mario games out the wazoo. And everyone shit their pants over it.
JB basically is a standard DK platformer with an unorthodox control scheme. I actually think the Wiimotes will make it better on account of my palms getting hurt really fast. I'd rather have hurt arms than hurt palms (evidenced by how much I liked Barrel Blast).
The only real difference is that everything you're used to seeing has been replaced by a rather un-DK fascimle. Barrel Cannons are now little white monkey groups, Gnawties are now fuzzy warthog things, Neckies are now Helmaroc-looking things, instead of Kremlings you have evil marital arts Kongs, Rambi and Enguarde have been replaced by a buffalo and an orca whale, instead of Diddy you have a health bar (in this remake at least) and no other past DK characters or elements aside from DK himself and the bananas are in sight.
Sure the game is a great concept, why in hell did they completely ditch everything the DK franchise was made of? They didn't even include any references to the arcade games (unless DK's hideous teeth count)!

True, the last DK game I played was Donkey Kong 64, but I think I'd be able to handle the new direction. It's not that big a deal, it's just like how every Zelda game stars a different main character (different time periods) and lots of well loved characters are either replaced (Zora's into Rito's, Kokiri into Korok's) or redone (every enemy). Goron rock nipples still haunt me.

Yes but every Zelda game carried over something from the past titles. Jungle Beat did not. Although I still loved it.
See you guys are confused. Man-Frog is referring to the content in Jungle Beat and how it is nothing like Country. While the rest of you are referring to the gameplay which plays a lot like Country.
Oh, and go to hell Captain Underwear, Diddy rules!

I disagree. Donkey is superior to Diddy. However I still love them both.
