If you go by drone status, there's whole clan of Manky Kongs out there. I've always thought of Lanky as the one "good guy" Manky who got kicked out of the clan for clowning around instead of throwing barrels. In the DK64 manual, Cranky says that Lanky is possibly a distant relative (not sure if that counts as canon, though).

That's just an unclear statement; not even Cranky is sure about it according to the text.

Maybe all the kongs are clones of cranky and every one of them is genetically engineered, and cranky is the original donkey kong.

Except some of the Kongs are female....and some are monkeys instead of apes.

Except some of the Kongs are female....and some are monkeys instead of apes. Maybe some were clones of the clones. That's always imperfect I suspect Cranky was also a clone, which is why he aged so much faster than Mario. His clone body is decaying. Solid Cranky...

His clone body is decaying. Solid Cranky... I guess that explains why Wrinkly Kong suddenly passed away between DKC3 and DK64....

It is now my intention to make Donkey Kong Country part of the Metal Gear canon. Jungles, icy mountains... It's clear to me that most of the Metal Gear games take place on DK Island.

Just how did you deduce that, exactly? I've never played a Metal Gear game in my life, but don't they involve sneaking round enemy bases, taking out (human) soldiers with the minimum of fuss...with a gun.

Mario also obviously takes place in Kirby's world. Castles, green plains made of doughnuts and candy, as well as various lava areas. Also, I heard Mario and Kirby produced an illegitimate child.

Also, I heard Mario and Kirby produced an illegitimate child. You mean.... a rotund, moustachioed, dungaree-wearing child who has an insatiable appetite? W... W... Wario?! Sqrt, we know that Hideo Kojima cited Donkey Kong Country as a major inspiration for the settings and characters of Metal Gear Solid in this video interview.

Apparently Sqrt can't pinpoint sarcasm when it jumps up and punches him square in the face, either.

Don't you remember? His observation skills are declining.
And Cranky has been injected with MonkeyDye. That also explains his rapid aging, he even got an extra walking cane in DKC2.

I always wondered why he got a second cane. Better yet, why does he have a gnarled piece of wood for a cane in DKC, but they replaced it with actual canes in DKC2?

Because K Rool paid him in canes for secretly assisting in the capture of Donkey Kong. Canes are the national currency of DK Isle you know, they're just in an economic downfall so you don't see many.
