Arcadenik- You, me and TEi are all rooting for Ammy. Yami's in there already, so throw us all a bone, Capcom! XD
Parrot - I have a strong hunch that Kevin (I thought his name was Ken? Perhaps that was NA only) isn't in the cards, but you never know. If Capcom's throwing in Saki from an obscure JP-only quiz game, then anything's feasible.

Ken was NA only- AFAIK, there were zero Street Fighter references in the original Street Fighter 2010 release.
Funny you guys should mention that today, as the AVGN's video on that game went up today.

And apparently as that video went up, the Game Center CX did a special on it too. There's no originality in journalism anymore XD

I guess that it's 2010 made everyone remember that game for some reason. I don't remember it being all that great, from what I've read. Weird.

Live in New York? Nintendo World Store will be having a launch party for Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom on the 23rd of January! From 11 am - 3 pm, you can meet Seth Killian and Producer Ryota Niitsuma, who'll be signing everything, apparently. Free swag, an opportunity to play the game, and some other stuff is on tap. You can read more about it here.In other news, Nintendo Power's reviewed the game, and they state that there's only 26 characters in the game. Should we believe this, or should we ignore them and go along with Capcom's claims that there's more? Questions...

A huge smattering of news has gone up over the last few days - I've gathered them all up at LVLs. Of note is the quote box of Producer Ryota Niitsuma's Q&A with Capcom-unity forum members at the bottom of the post. That narrows down the potential character playfield a bit, and unfortunately may be the final stone on Phoenix Wright characters being hidden in the game. We'll see if Capcom has any more nifty character tricks up their sleeves or just a bunch of hot air next week!

Well, if it sells well enough, maybe they can pop up in a sequel! ^_^

I totally forgot about Power Stone! How the hell?!
(Jack feels like he'd be an appropriate character for the game...I don't know any characters in TvC that play like him.)
Oh well. :< No Franza, either...next time, I guess.
Let's go, Ammy!

Parrot - I have a strong hunch that Kevin (I thought his name was Ken? Perhaps that was NA only) isn't in the cards, but you never know. If Capcom's throwing in Saki from an obscure JP-only quiz game, then anything's feasible. If Capcom doesn't want to change Kevin Striker's North American name back to his Japanese name, and if many gamers wanted Ken Masters in, then Capcom might be bringing the 2010 version of Ken, but that would make some Capcom fans (especially those who are also import gamers) angry. Besides Kevin Striker / 2010 Ken, other possible upcoming playable Capcom characters are at least one of these, some already mentioned in this thread: Ninja Hanamaru (Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru) Fighter (Quiz & Dragons: Capcom Quiz Game, and King of Dragons) Alan the Magic Swordsman (Magic Sword) Super Joe/Joe Gibson and/or Nathan Spencer (Commando series and Bionic Commando series) Brian Bruno / Cyber Blue (Battle Circuit) Trojan (Trojan) Regina (Dino Crisis) Alpha (Side Arms Hyper Dyne) Anyone else from the Onimusha series like Samanosuke Akechi (Onimusha: Warlords) Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney series) Dante (Devil May Cry series) Either Leo or Tessa / Tabasa (Red Earth / Warzard) Lou & Siva (Midnight Wanderers, and Chariot: Adventure through the Sky) Either the original or MvC2 SonSon (SonSon series) Hayato Kanzaki (Star Gladiator series) Tron Bonne (MegaMan Legends series) Billy Bob (Gun.Smoke) Lee Wong (Tiger Road) Either Wing, Pure, Fur and/or Lyric (Capcom World series) Meta Ball (Metal Walkers) These few below are a lot less likely to appear as playables than the ones above: Arthur (Knights of the Round) - Although, the GnG Arthur appears in the ending of Sōki (from Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams), while the KotR Arthur can become playable, Capcom probably doesn't want to confuse gamers. He also matches the real King Arthur more than the GnG Arthur does, making the KotR Arthur less original. Any incarnation of Ryu (Breath of Fire series) - Like both Arthurs, except the SF Ryu is playable, while the GnG Arthur is not. Captain Commando (Captain Commando) - Hoover/Baby Head is seen in the ending of PTX-40A (from the Lost Planet series). Anyone or anything (Armored Warriors, and Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness) - Santana Laurence piloting Blodia (most likely the Cyberbots version, BX-02 Blodia) also appear in PTX-40A's ending. These are several ideas I've gathered. I guess that it's 2010 made everyone remember that game for some reason. I don't remember it being all that great, from what I've read. Weird. Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight isn't the only video game that takes place in 2010 fictionally. I noticed that there are also Psikyo's Daraku Tenshi - The Fallen Angels and Data East's Crude Buster (known in the American arcades as Two Crude, and in the same region for the Genesis/Mega Drive as Two Crude Dudes).

Niitsuma mentions in an article I read on Kotaku that if sales go well, there may be downloadable characters added to the game. Intriguing...perhaps this is what Capcom reps have been hinting at...

Any incarnation of Ryu (Breath of Fire series) Like both Arthurs, except the SF Ryu is playable, while the GnG Arthur is not. Man, for me personally, a VS. game with Breath of Fire Ryu would be like Christmas, my birthday, my birth, my death, and my first orgasm rolled up into a flaming pile of awesome and then put into a 747 and having that fly up to the edge of the atmosphere and then having it kamakaze dive into my face ...It is now that I realize my Breath of Fire obsession might just be unhealthy. (As if those Katt pictures weren't enough of a hint...)Erm, anyways, back to the game. Looks very, very nice. Will most likely pick it up. Character wise, i'm just the tiniest bit peeved that Zero's in before Dr. Wily. Now, this is just me, as i've been waiting for a playable Wily for quite some time. (And he could've fit perfectly as a replacement for that stupid Lost Planet Mech...) But yeah. Just me and my opinions.

Breath of Fire has awesome designs. I'd put Katt in, myself, as I think she has a kickass design. And she's a freaking beast in BoFII. She's always in my party. That's another game I need to finish. XD I just got to the point where I can Fusion, but haven't gotten enough of the characters you need to do that quite yet.
And you'd be pleased to know that I agree with your Wily sentiments, and have him in my NvC design as a boss character. Woot.
BTW, Adam, did you recently sign up over at Capcom-unity? I saw a Combo Meal and it made me think of you right off.

Don't feel bad. I signed up just for the Spyborgs contest they had last year.
They never did pick a winner for that thing...
