That picture doesn't exactly go along with the words as well as the picture he posted.

Taken way out of context?
Anyway, I don't think it would hurt them to add/alter a few things to anything else in the games. Perhaps they would even sell better than before when they were on the GameCube.

Yeah, I'm just wondering why they made changes to Jungle Beat and Pikmin, but not Mario Power Tennis?
My guess is because it's a sports title and those things sell no matter what because the casuals can't tell the difference. While Jungle Beat and Pikmin are gamer orientated, and they are no doubt looking for something newer. But I honestly don't know.

While the Jungle Beat one is a bit odd, the Pikmin one does make sense. It's possible that if you really suck that much, then you could sabotage your own save by wasting enough days doing nothing. This new feature prevents you from reaching a point where your game is saved in a 'no win scenario'. Like if you only have three days left and have to collect parts from four different areas.

Pikmin 1 was a launch title and surprisingly short. It's a fantastic little game, but it needs some longevity built into it.
Honestly? I wish they'd do a little more along these lines with the VC releases as well.

A different control type does not count as a real change to the game. However adding more features and new content does.

...and uh, just who established these rules?

... common sense? A new control type doesn't make the game any different than it was before, it just means you can play it differently. I can play Super Mario World on my computer with a keyboard, does that constitute a change in the game?

There is a big difference between pressing buttons to play a game, and actually moving your arms.
But yeah, you're right! Wii Golf is exactly like all those Tiger Woods games on the 5th gen! Wii boxing is just like Fight Night!

I can also play Duck Hunt with a mouse. There's a big difference between holding a gun at a screen from a distance and simply clicking on the ducks so that dog never can laugh at you.
The play style might change, but fundamentally the game itself is the same thing. Your new method of play might be better or worse, but if you boil it down, it's still the same damn game. That's why your sarcastic comeback fails, because Wii Golf is not the same game as Tiger Woods. Even if Wii Golf used a conventional controller, it would still not be the same as Tiger Woods.
The only alterations being made to Mario Power Tennis is the input. From a programming perspective, this may require some changes in the internal code. It might even be possible to write a new program that translates Wiimote gestures to correspond to the original Gamecube controller input. This isn't much different than me playing Duck Hunt with a mouse. It might be more fun (or less fun?), but it's still the same game, no matter the fact that it's being played in a completely different manner than it was originally designed.

Jungle Beat better register Gamecube bongos. It would be completely stupid not to celebrate the people who still have those infernal things sitting in their basements, rotting.
btw, weren't all VC games supposed to receive upgrades? *rolls eyes*

The play style might change, but fundamentally the game itself is the same thing. Um...if the play style is changed, doesn't that mean there were changes made to it? If I'm not mistaken, this whole argument was about Power Tennis not having any changes, but now you are yourself saying there is a change. Unless I'm confused...
