Control with joystick? Isn't that against the entire point of the game?
Hmmm.... not sure if I want.

Guess it'll be more like DKC now, though not in the way I'd have preferred.
I wouldn't have cared if they made the nunchuck do the drumming a la Barrel Blast, but I really would've liked to see Diddy or Cranky in there somewhere.
My ideal sequel to JB has Diddy acting as a helper in the same manner as Jungle Climber.

I must admit I did observe a new health system as well as what could be a Banana Coin in a level.

I can't decide whether it will be better or worse, so I'll have to play it.

Some info on Pikmin's control scheme from IGN who got it from Famitsu (that's also where the DKJB info comes from). "For the Play it on Wii Selection version of Pikmin, Famitsu makes no mention of additional content aside from the new control scheme. To control the game now, you, as expected, point directly at your Pikmin using the Wiimote. You can point at locations on the screen and press A to toss Pikmin around. Or, you can press B to call out to the Pikmin."

Butbutbutbutbutbut Pikmin wouldn't work with the Wiimote!
Also Jungle Beat is perfectly fine without Diddy and the rest of the DKC moron crew.

Fine it may be, but it won't a DK game without them. It'll just be a game that happened to have DK in it. I'd r eally love to see what the rest of the internet would think if Mario or Zelda got the same treatment.

The internet would hate it. But who gives a flying fuck what the internet thinks?

Contuning off of TVEye's point, people seemed to give Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask, two VERY different Zelda titles from the usual motif, the same amount of love in my eyes. And I do believe Mario did get that treatment...look at Donkey Kong to Mario Bros. to Super Mario Bros. Three incredibly different games, yet all star Mario. And of course, Super Mario Bros. 2/USA, the oddball in the whole Mario universe (despite its origins as Doki Doki Panic). And then we could consider the leap to 3D, as Mario 64 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time are incredibly different from their 2D counterparts, despite keeping many of the trappings. So it's happened many times with their leading franchises. And Metroid has done it as well...Prime, anyone?

Every game needs innovation, and if you really think about it, Donkey Kong has pretty much stuck to the same formula compared to other Nintendo series, so it's only fitting they added the bongos. Otherwise, we'd just be getting yet another sidescrolling Donkey Kong game.

How on Earth can you compare those titles to what had happened to DK in Jungle Beat!? Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask still had all the same enemies, elements and references to the previous titles. Jungle Beat had none, except DK himself. Apparently you don't know what "the same treatment" means. So here's an example: Let's say it's been a heck of a long time since a good Mario game came out. Finally one comes out where Mario goes around with a giant toenail clipper hopping on top of realistic zombies and clipping feet at high speeds to get the best score. There's no Peach, no Luigi, no mushrooms, no story. Just for no reason, Mario's going around hopping on realistic zombies and clipping toenails. That's the same treatment.

I thought for sure you might say something intelligent, but, sadly, no. Hey, how about a game where Mario has a giant water pump and his task is to clean up a town where he was wrongly accused of commiting a crime! No mushrooms, no Bowser ('cept maybe at the end), no Koopa Troopas, , throw in some voice acting, no Luigi, and all new enemies! Oh, wait...
