The Yoshis you play as in Yoshi's Story are referred to as babies. You even see them hatch from their eggs in the opening cutscene. It's never explained where the Koopas get their shells from, but if they weren't born with them I think they'd have mentioned that already. In YIDS they technically haven't been "born" because they were kidnapped before the stork could deliver them to their parents' houses. Kamek didn't "steal" them. Care to debate any further?

No, Mario and Luigi were born in Yoshi's Island, and the others probably were too. But Mario had his hat....
But it doesn't count. ;D

Are you sure that's a saddle? I think its a shell people use as a saddle.
Also I agree with Man-Frog about being born with clothes. It seems very... Mario-like for something like that to happen. But I still believe that those mushroom "caps" are a part of a Toad's head. Like I mentioned before, spores have been seen coming out of them.

That, in no way, proves that it's part of them, they could be real mushrooms as hats.

Except it does prove it's a part of them. The hat is a body part. It produces spores. Mushrooms produce spores. Therefore Toads are anthro-mushrooms. Now it seems like you're trying to get on our nerves.

NAh, I just don't see how it says it's a part of them, they could just be wearing real mushrooms, as i said.

Look at this picture of a Super Mushroom: Now look at this picture of Toad: His head is clearly supposed to be in place of the mushroom's stem. The resemblence is too uncanny for it to just be a hat made from a mushroom. If this doesn't convince you, then you're just stubborn.

Here's the thing, I know I'm stubborn, it's just the way I am.
The mushrooms didn't even have eyes at first, but now I'm just undecided. In SMB3, the mushrooms were white with red spots like toad.
Of course, they still could have just used mushrooms, which is why the design is similar, and his head is probably a coincidence.
See why I'm undecided?

It's not a coincidence. It's a deliberate design choice. Toads are mushroom people. End of story.

Look we don't have to argue. This is fanon after all. Nothing here is fact.
It makes me kind of sad that the only people on these forums who seem to like discussing fan theories is Man-Frog and myself.
Why is that? Do people here think they're too good to discuss this stuff? Because that's the vibe I get around here.

This is a fan theory thread so...yeah, don't fret.
What I do, however, is try to apply entirely new concepts to just about any of the series. You know, opening up and thinking outside the box on these things. Seems like I'm the only one who does that around here. You'd probably see that in my fan game ideas thread. Keeping it real in the process, however.
Nintendo does take new steps with every game they put out so far anyhow. I have no interest in coming up with any "fan characters" that will just end up failing, so I'll leave bringing out new characters to them.

Well, this is a thread for filling in gaps via creativity, not for coming up with game ideas or fan characters, so there's nothing to worry about there.
Speaking of this thread, I really need to update that fanon page.

Say sinse when does a topic like this have to be purely about Mario anyway. Why not Metroid? Fire Emblem?
Or on another subject, the backwards society in Pokemon...

This thread is not purely about Mario. The document I was working on is. Talk about whatever VG fanon you have on your mind.

Personally, I see the Distant Planet from Pikmin as merely a four or five times bigger version of Earth.
