What makes you think it's bigger?

Olimar is as small as a dime.
I don't think it's earth anyway. Never seen any bulborbs around here.

Even though we barely even got a scoop out of planet Hocotate and its other inhabitants so far (mark my words, Pikmin 3), it would be safe to assume that Olimar and co are of average size here (and possibly other planets), from what we've seen in those few scenes at his home planet in Pikmin 2. This Distant Planet just seems to have that..."different" kind of feel to it. Eh, hard to explain right, but I guess you'll get it.

Just because it's average size to "them" doesn't mean it's average size here.
Distant Planet has never been confirmed to be earth.
Olimar HAS been confirmed to be the size of a dime.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see. But for now, I'll stand by this notion.

Olimar is as small as a dime. I don't think it's earth anyway. Never seen any bulborbs around here. It's the future. Ever wonder why you don't see any humans or normal animals in Pikmin? Humans are extinct and everything else evolved.

It is very, very Earth. Hence all the product placement in 2, not to mention the potted plants, cans, cardboard boxes and other assorted trash. I think it's less evident in the first game, though (or at least easier to ignore).

Olimar says in the first game the atmosphere is nothing but toxic oxygen, which for me was the first big clue. It also is very clearly Earth in the ending credits when all the onions fly away.

Indeed, Olimar comes from a world a lot smaller than ours, which makes everything seem normal size to him.

If Olimar is the size of a dime, then how big is his home planet?

Please find me a Miyamoto-helmed series that follows the laws of physics. That's just dodging the issue anyway, since Olimar's size is absolutely canon (open your Pikmin manual, flip to the end and see for yourself).

I just proposed a question for discussion. I'm well aware the he actually is the size of a dime.

His plant coukd be the biggest one of all, the planet size has nothing to do with the size of it's inhabitants.

Uh...right. Sure. Olimar and his people are the size of pocket change and their homes and appliances are made to match, yet their planet can somehow be larger than Earth. Why would you even consider that?

Because it wouldn't be possible scientifically, yet it would make sense from the mind of Miyamoto.
