Eh, this kinda warrants its own topic, so here goes:
Must be me, but it seems the Metroid and Pikmin games seem to share a few similar concepts here and there, upon playing these two series.
Similarities -Space travel, with their ships used as a "base" of sorts. -Extensive logs for the adventures of Samus and Olimar/Louie. -Vast wealth of alien creatures that get log entries when gotten one by one. -They both rely on backtracking a lot. -Several other tidbits and secrets to search for.
Differences -Samus is more reliant on finding weapons to traverse more areas. -Olimar & Louie rely on amassing armies of Pikmin to defend themselves. -Pikmin 2's got the whole "dungeon and overworld" thing going, while Metroid has all of it as one giant maze.
Pray Pikmin 3 involves going to different planets like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption did. Not to mention more Hocotatian characters and such. And of course, Olimar's family in the flesh (seriously, wtf?).
Close enough.
Anyone else familiar with both series considered this before? Open to interpretation.

Both are gamecube games.
Mind = blown.

Ha. I should have seen that coming.
I've just beat both Prime games a few times, but apparently have no idea as to which one I liked better. Maybe both. Too bad Prime 2 was a helluva lot harder. Blurgh. All a matter of learning the ebb and flow of most boss battles more. Boy, do I need a coffee break.

Does this mean Mass Effect is based on Pikmin? And Sonic Chronicles, too? D: BDi, you overanalyze things.

Plus in PALslevania Prime 2 is much more of a walk in the park than Prime 1, too.

Not based on each other, just comparable. Metroid Prime 2 was made somewhat easier than 1 in PAL regions? Hum...

The first, last and second-to-last points are stretches, most sci-fi games use the first, and most games in general use the last two. The ones in the middle are also becoming a staple of games since Pokémon came along, and you can find it in Paper Mario, Viva Pinata, anything made by BioWare, and most RPGs. And those are the reasons I find this thread insane. Whatever happened to the days when this was my favourite forum?

Whatever happened to the days when this was my favourite forum? Whatever happened to the days when this was MY favourite forum?! Answers on a postcard... then copy those answers into a PM to me... then tear up the postcard, because it is now useless.

Boo, seriously.....your ideas for discussions are ridiculous, and don't try to act like they aren't, because everyone else on here agrees.

Man-Frog, you are no better. In fact, you're worse. There's no reason to start flinging personal attacks around, and don't try to drag everyone else into your corner.

How was I attacking him personally? How am I worse than him? When was I dragging anyone into my corner? What did I do wrong this time?

I was only trying to drive home what everyone else said? Why am I the one being singled out?

You didn't need to drive anything home, and you made a completely different point from what I'd said. I said this thread was insane, not that all of BDi's discussions were ridiculous. If you want to flame him, do it on your own time and leave me out of it.
Frankly, Man-Frog, I'm more sick of you than anything else about this forum. You're constantly acting like a jerk to people, and whenever you get called out for it, you act like you're completely innocent.
