I'd take Toad over Junior any day with seniority and mainstream playability as my reasoning, but with Junior's mainstream presence surging to an almost ridiculous level, he may be the choice between the two. Especially since there are three Mario heroes and only one villain as it stands.

Well I would say there should be a limit to how many slots a franchise can have (slots are not character numbers but the boxes they're in) The fact that Mario series already has a balanced four character slot, I don't think they need anymore. Which is sorta what I think, try to get the franchises Perfect Four if possible. Oh by the way... This here was the beta design for a fan project I made myself... This was in my eyes the nearly perfect roster... Incomplete obviously. What do you think? Inspire anyone?

I picked 50 characters in order to do it in a sort of 5 max, 10 series thing. You know how Brawl did it by nine vertical rows of four, right? Well, my idea was the same basic thing, but instead ten rows of five for an even 50, essentially. So the series cap is 5 for this thread.

Personally, I think the perfect SSB roster should've always just been limted to the protagonist from each series, with the supporting cast filling out the Assists, Boss Stages, Trophies and Stickers. This would've easily limited the stupid debates over who gets to be in over who, and would've balanced the series representation a lot more.

That's true. But since the begining we've had Luigi and Jigglypuff.

50 character slots seem too much. I think a 9x5 grid is more reasonable so there would be 44 character slots plus one random slot. Also, does anyone really want the forbidden seven in SSB4? I mean, its very likely that third-party characters won't be returning so, we are down to 33 slots. So add the forbidden seven and we have 39 slots. Huh? 33 + 7 = 39? Well, Toon Zelda and Toon Sheik count as one, right? So... but Plusle & Minun won't be in SSB4 so we are down to 38 slots. Lucario and Ike won't be returning because they are popular at the time Brawl were being announced... so we get their replacements who happen to be popular at the time SSB4 is announced. We are still at 38 here. Newcomers include Krystal, Little Mac, Louie, Balloon Fighter, Balloon Kid, and Mach Rider are added, unfortunately most of them are clones. That's 44 characters right there. And SSB4 is how Brawl was supposed to be before third-party characters got involved, just like how Brawl is how Melee was supposed to be if there was no time constraints. *sigh* Well, at least Wario has two movesets this time and most fans are happy they get Roy, Dr. Mario, and Mewtwo back in addition to Krystal, Little Mac, and Balloon Fighter.

I think Balloon Fighter would make a better AT.
I think everyone can agree Stafy is a character that should've been in there. I mean he's got everything for him, a potential moveset, popularity, a growing franchise. The only reason they probably didn't put him in there is because he's Japan only... And I spit on that!

That's true. But since the begining we've had Luigi and Jigglypuff. I guess there could either be key exceptions (Mario and Pokemon are big and important), or a limit of two characters per series.

How about having "Orange star Army" as the Nintendo wars character. Te Orange star army has been the good guys of the Wars series since the Famicon days this character consist of Andy, Samy and Max ridding a Mid Tank. One in the Cockpit being the leading CO and the other two outside operating the machine guns and other weaponry (mostly used for A moves)and their moves are:
B Main cannon fire, they fire the main canon, if you hold be you can aim 180 degrees, once released
B forward Victory march, a quick dash forward crushing your opponents, if you hold B you can charge it
B Up Homing You fire a guided missile at you enemies, you can also guide it so to hit your tank for help recovering (Like Ness and Lucas Pk Thunder)
B Down Co change, here comes the interesting part pressing B down you do co Change this your movements don't change but your stats do: Andy in the lead: your tank recovers energy little by little(like 1 hp every 2 seconds), but your attacks get weaker Max in the lead: Your attacks get stronger, but your speed dramatically decreases. Sami in the Lead: your speed increases exponentially but your defense decreases. Alternating between the three CO´s is the key to win
Final Smash (Co Power) Rachel sends 4 missiles to help the army , you can control the aim of were the missiles might hit (Beware as they can hit you even if they don't harm you)

The only reason they probably didn't put him in there is because he's Japan only... And I spit on that! Because that's a factor in the decision, which is why we didn't get Lucas or Marth. Oh wait...

The original SSB was made up of main protagonists and two supporting. (Three if you count Yoshi). Melee began to add supporting characters and obscurities. Brawl's just continuing that because they already covered the big leads.
The roster beta is near perfect. It covers who we should have gotten and it's not too oversized or over fanserviced. For once, Koopaul, well done.

Animal Crosser. I've said all I need to here. Edit: Oh yeah...Stage, item, assistant? Why the crap not? There a reason you're so gung-ho on having an Animal Crossing character be playable? I can't really see what it would add that hasn't already been covered with the huge amount of other stuff in Brawl.

Not bad, I must say. But Ridley? C'mon, he was a boss character for a reason. Too bad that miniscule selection of them got fucked off with two of him.
