Well Dixie WAS supposed to be in Brawl so it's not like they didn't WANT to include her.
Arle's from Compile's Madou Monogatari-series and t's more know spin-off, Puyo Puyo. In Smash, she'd use only spells and never any physical attacks. Maybe I'll do a moveset for her later.
Of all the third party characters they could add, why HER?
Well, if Katsini was the first boss you encounter in the game and is also related in Tatanga, why not him? Can't still think any idea what he'll do.
He's not related to Tatanga. He only looks like him.
Sarissa is noted sometimes among fans when talking about Wario's Woods. (-ll-) Also if she's little related to Sabasa from SML2, so maybe when she appears, she might first throw some fireballs from her wand like Sabasa did, and the one she hits, she throw apple bombs on him/them. (-lwl-) Nasty KO.
They only talk about her for the same reasons Ashley is so friggin' popular. Figure it out.
Sarissa and Ashley are popular because they are lolis or something?
Oh, and Flip, where is your roster you said you were going to post? Takamaru, Starfy, Little Mac, Isa (from Sin & Punishment 2), and Isaac's Descendant (from Golden Sun DS) are on my SSB4 roster. I am not sure what you meant by Nintendo's new IP with swords and sorcery.
I felt that Brawl's Classic Mode was lackluster compared to the original's and Melee's. It didn't feel like it had much replay value compared to Melee's but it was slightly better than the original's. I would like to see more variety and replay value in SSB4's Classic Mode. I was thinking of something like this:
Battle #1: 1 vs. 1 Battle #2: 2 vs. 2 (Team Battle) Bonus Stage #1: Break the Targets
Battle #3: 1 vs. 1 Battle #4: 3 vs. 1 (Giant Battle) Bonus Stage #2: Home Run Contest
Battle #5: 1 vs. 1 Battle #6: 1 vs. 3 Boss Battle #1: One of the bosses you already beaten in Adventure Mode except for the final boss; if you haven't beaten a boss in Adventure Mode yet, you will face Master Hand instead (consider this the mini-boss battle of Classic Mode)
Battle #7: 1 vs. 1 Battle #8: 2 vs. 2 (Team Battle) Bonus Stage #3: Board the Platforms
Battle #9: 3 vs. 1 (Giant Battle) Battle #10: 1 vs. 3 Bonus Stage #4: Race to the Finish
Battle #11: 1 vs. 30 (you face new enemies similar to Polygons, Wireframes, and Alloys) Battle #12: 1 vs. 1 (Metal Battle, you face Metal version of your character) Boss Battle #2: Master Hand and Crazy Hand (you face Crazy Hand on Hard/VeryHard/Intense)
I will need some more time to refine my Classic Mode ideas but for now, I want to get my presents.
I don't normally like to bump dead threads but I wanted to suggest Palutena and Medusa for SSB4.
Think about it... Sakurai is working on Kid Icarus: Uprising so it would make sense that he might become interested in Palutena and Medusa and maybe he might want to add one of them or both of them in SSB4.
Having only two or three games in a series haven't stopped Sakurai from adding new characters to those series. Star Fox only had two games out when Falco was added and Mother only had three games when Lucas was added. So I think Kid Icarus having only three games should not be an issue.
I am not exactly sure what Palutena's and Medusa's movesets could be... but I was thinking that they both could fight with their staffs. Palutena could maybe shoot fire arrows and light arrows from it and use the protective crystal to absorb energy-based projectiles (like Ness's PSI Magnet) and use her Mirror Shield to return projectiles and she could borrow Pit's Final Smash for herself (and Pit gets a new one from Uprising, of course). Medusa could turn characters into stones for a short time with her gaze and maybe shoot snakes out of her staff or out of her hair and her Final Smash could have her transform into a giant cyclopean Medusa head from the final battle in the NES game.
My updated wishlist for SSB4 newcomers now consists the following (in alphabetic order): Dixie Kong, Hunting Dog, Isa, King K. Rool, Little Mac, Matthew, Medusa, Mega Man, Meowth, Mewtwo, Mii, Palutena, Starfy, Takamaru, Tingle, Toad, and Zoroark.
nocturnal YL: Also I'm very excited about Fire Emblem Engage now, but I also don't want to have premature celebrations until the game is actually out.

Nester the Lark: A topic about our hypothetical ideal games could be interesting. I sometimes think about what an RPG would be like if it had only my favorite types of elements, and didn't include things I didn't like.

Nester the Lark: On a similar note, I've considered making a "fun" topic about creating an RPG party out of only various Nintendo characters. There would be rules (like only one character per franchise), but I haven't gotten the details figured out yet.

nocturnal YL: At Chapter 17 in Xenoblade. The story got a lot better at the end. Also I just realised that I was a fool trying to run around places and fight low-level enemies for items when I could have just traded.

Nester the Lark: First, The Pokémon Company gets into trouble with that whole Pokémon Masters EX hashtag business, and now this.
Jan 14, 2023 9:55:16 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: That's very embarrassing (and also entertaining). But I wonder why would The Pokémon Company post something they probably didn't make themselves?
Jan 14, 2023 17:56:51 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Got to the ending of Xenoblade. I'll do the post-game contents in Casual Mode since they started to feel grindy. I'll also go back to the parts I skipped (mostly quests and Colony 6); there isn't much reason to play NG+, so I'll just complete the 1st run.
Jan 14, 2023 23:39:45 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: I'd like to be playing Fire Emblem Engage, but it wasn't delivered when it was supposed to be, and the shipment tracking hasn't been updated, so I have no idea what happened to it.
Jan 21, 2023 18:21:51 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Times like this make me wonder if Sakurai had the right idea, and buying games digitally is the way to go.
Jan 21, 2023 18:23:18 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Digital is usually more expensive and Switch only supports up to 2TB storage (about 140 to 200 games), but if you want to play games as soon as possible, it's the way to go.
Jan 22, 2023 1:48:00 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: I don't know when will I be getting it. I'm still interested, but it's no longer the "pre-order, premium version" kind of interested. These days I order games in bulks, so maybe I'll wait.
Jan 22, 2023 1:49:34 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Finally, an update. It's marked as "out for delivery" again. Fingers crossed.
Jan 23, 2023 12:58:22 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: About the prices of digital games, I often find that when they go on sale, it's usually for very cheap prices. Except for first-party Nintendo games, which rarely go on sale, and not usually for that big of a discount.
Jan 23, 2023 13:01:40 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: But then, first-party Nintendo games usually hold their value for a long time even physically.
Jan 23, 2023 13:02:21 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Welp, that's 0 for 2 on the delivery.
Jan 23, 2023 23:11:36 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: And it's out for delivery again. Third time's the charm?
Jan 26, 2023 12:54:55 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: And that's 0 for 3 on the delivery.
Jan 27, 2023 9:49:06 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: So, the delivery company gave up and sent the game back to the retailer. My order is being cancelled and money refunded.
Jan 27, 2023 20:41:21 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: I've been in contact with a customer service rep from the retailer all week, and they didn't understand why the package wasn't being delivered, either. But they're sending me a $30 gift card for the trouble, so that takes the sting out of it.
Jan 27, 2023 20:43:16 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Still considering the digital option at this point.
