A couple of months ago, I mentioned having a game based on those occasional posts we get from someone trying to remember the name of a game and providing only a vague description of it. A few people were interested, but I didn't get around to starting it. Sorry it's taken so long.
Here's how it's going to work: I will provide a vague description of a game that includes at least three characteristics. From that, hopefully it should indicate a specific game, and all you have to do is figure out what it is and post the answer here.
In the event that my description is too general and ends up applying to multiple games, I will add additional hints to narrow it down.
Since this is a Nintendo forum, I will restrict the selection to games that have appeared on Nintendo platforms (that includes the Virtual Console).
Also, I haven't decided if I should keep a running score. If you guys would like to do that, let me know. Until then, consider this a practice round.
Now, here we go!
This 16-bit platform game features pirates, and the main character powers-up with bubble gum. What game is it?

Nobody will reply to this?
I'm not sure I'm any close to the answer, but those hints vaguely made me think of the Donkey Kong Country series, being about pirates, 16-bit, and that bubble gum. However, the bubble gum isn't a power up as much as it is an animation that appears when you change the leader of the team.

seanking64 is correct! The answer is Skuljagger: Revolt of the Westicans by American Softworks for the SNES. Wow, I'm glad some people replied. I didn't think anyone was interested. Should I keep going?

Keep going. That one was too hard so I didn't respond.

Too hard, eh? It's supposed to be a little obscure, to the point of having to do a little research to figure it out.
I'll see if I can come up with another one.
BTW, should I keep score?

I didn't reply because I didn't know. But I'm game for this kind of thing. I've partcipated in a "Guess the Screen/Music/Text" version of this that is also fun. Perhaps I'll kickstart one of those in the near future. ^_^
And sure, keep score! Why not?

All right, then, from now on, correct guesses are worth exactly one whole point!
Maybe this one will be a little easier:
CLUE: This adventure/RPG from the early 90's uses an isometric perspective. Throughout the game, you descend deeper and deeper into one big dungeon. One level is flooded, and you must float around on a barrel while being chased by a monster.
Guess the game!

Just so you know, it's not Solstice. But good guess.
Any more?

Is it Faxanadu, Solstice's counterpart?

Nope, not Faxanadu.

REQUEST! Draw me as however you'd imagine a Man-Frog to look like. Have me attempting to churn out the best game ideas possible, and at some point have me get into an argument with Kirbychu about Sonic. ;D Is that directed towards me? If so, it's in the wrong topic
