It is neither Kid Icarus nor Rygar.
When I say it is very much like Zelda II, I mean that you could catch a screenshot of it in passing and easily mistake it for Zelda II.

Battle of Olympus, if I'm not mistaken. Fun game. Shame it'll likely never pop up on the VC.

Well, if Imagineer's A Boy and his Blob could be released, I guess there's a chance Battle of Olympus could see the light of day, then.
I don't know this one off the top of my head, but I'll do some looking into it soon. I'm typing my final paper for archaeology, and I need to get back to work.

Sonic Blast Man for the SNES from Taito. parrothead +1 And we have a race for second place! ScoreboardWildcat - 8 8bitretroshit - 3 Fryguy64 - 3 parrothead - 3 Man-Frog - 1 Johans Nidorino - 1 Clue: This is a puzzle game on the NES in which you make blocks disappear by placing two blocks of the same type next to each other. It is not Tetris, Dr. Mario, Mario & Yoshi, Yoshi's Cookie, Puyo Puyo or Panel de Pon, or any sequel or spin-off of those games. It is not a character-based game. Each room starts off with a number of blocks already in it, and you complete the level by making all of them disappear.

I had a feeling it was Sonic Blast Man, but I had to offer a second option. As for this one, Fire & Ice?

He said it wasn't a sequel of certain games including Tetris. Had it been Tetris 2, I'd have replied yesterday ^_^
