OK, so are all the Kongs related? The Mario Wiki seems to list all these relationships between the Kongs, saying Diddy is DK's nephew, Dixie is both Diddy's Girlfriend and DK's cousin, as well as Tiny Kong's sister and Chunky Kong's cousin, Kiddy Kong is Chunky Kong's younger brother.... Where did they dig all this up? Is it in the instruction manuals, or are they just making stuff up? OH! No no! I know that trying to find canon in most Nintendo games is a futile gesture: I'm just wondering where the Wiki drew it's original assumptions.

Here's what Mario Wiki says:
Additionally, the villainous Manky Kongs were apparently members of the Kong Family, but were kicked out for being too rowdy. They are also described as "Kong reject orangutans".
Now that one I DO remember from either the Player's Guide or Instruction Book.

Since your question is where that information comes from, I think the best first step is to sort those Kongs by appearance date, and then list the relationships to the previous ones because some are inferred from others. Correct me if I'm wrong with any of these. Kongs: - Donkey Kong

Side Note:
They're not all related biologically. The Kong surname is only there to indicate their species. All the Toads have "T" at the end of their name and they're not all related, and all the Smurfs have "Smurf" as their surname and they're not all related.

I kinda figured it was something like that, since I don't recall ever seeing anything about how Funky or Swanky Kong are related: the main thing I was wondering about was how the N64 Kongs were related to Dixie and Kiddy.

Wait... if Diddy is DK's nephew and Dixie is DK's cousin and Diddy and Dixie are boyfriend/girlfriend... wouldn't that be incest? They are probably not related to each other, just related to DK so it probably doesn't count.

Diddy was only ever referred to as DK's nephew twice, one of which was in Melee's trophy bio, which tend to be rife with errors (that same bio also claimed that DK and DK Sr. were the same person), while Dixie was only referred to as DK's cousin once. I don't think either of them hold any water.
