Nintendo. Cheated. Me. Once. Again.
I'm a Japanese version player, AND I just got Prime 3. And THEN I hear this news.
If anything, I'd like to see the whole "Friend Ticket" thing change. Not everybody has the game - Japanese version at that, in my case. Who am I supposed to exchange with?

It even confirms that local multiplayer for Echoes is still included, which I find good to considering nearly all the first person games on the Wii not having that feature.

It's not a bad idea, actually! Quite a bargain for its price. But since I already own Prime 3, hated Prime 2, and intend on buying Play For Wii Prime 1, it doesn't really apply here XD

('cept in Japan) And someone explain to me why Metroid Prime 2 is constantly dissed. I found the first to be bland and boring as heck, yet Echoes is one of my favorite games ever.

I didn't like MP2 the first time I replayed it, but that's because I got lost in the beginning. I could see why people might not like it though. The Light World/Dark World thing wasn't done quite as well as A Link to the Past. Going back and forth between the two felt too much like having to do a lot of backtracking.
It was also the most different in terms of setting. The Space Pirates and Metroids are both secondary enemies to the Ing. The Chozo are referenced only slightly as well. It was the first chance we got to see anything of the Federation though, which MP3 heavily built on.

Well I liked that concept. But it was handled poorly.

All the sources i've seen say the seperate PoW releases of the Prime games have cancelled. ('cept in Japan) I had to look that up before posting this reply because I hadn't heard anything like that up till now. IGN has the article about it, so it must be true, sooooo... Sincerely - I do not feel like paying $50 dollars for a game I like, a game I hate, and a game I own and have very recently played, with no intention of playing it again for years to come. So, cross that off the list of Wii games I planned on buying. Looks like Klonoa is the record-setter here; it took me a year and two months to find a Wii game I was happy enough to own and keep, so let's see how long it takes before the next one comes along. Like Teev said, it's funny how an old PS1 game broke the desolation in the Wii's barren landscape of good games. For me, it was mostly an issue of vulnerability. In any Metroid game you're at least capable of defending yourself within reason early on in the game, and you usually find a power-up to help you a few minutes in. Prime 2 pretty much leaves Samus in the lurch; not only does it take an extended period of time for the player to find the first power-up, but you're thrust into Dark Aether really early in the game and your movement is very restricted; you can only stay in light bubbles, which are for the most part temporary, and when you're outside those bubbles you take continuous (and rapid) damage. If you miss a crucial jump, or fall off a ledge onto a lower area, you have to repeat the entire process, in effect taking even further damage as you spend more time outside of the light bubbles. Then there's the matter of the basic Ing warriors, who can turn into puddles of dark spooge and break your lock-on, do heavy damage when they attack, and constantly attack you from outside the light bubbles, which makes your maneuverability almost nil. You also have to worry about the bubbles expiring in the middle of combat, and not even blasting them with the Light Beam makes them last for good. There's no reason for the game to be that challenging from the start, and it felt like Retro Studios did it only because they could.

Metroid games have never been about story so much as exploration, so I didn't really pay attention to what Metroid Prime was telling XD

I say it's good boxart, a nice partal shot of Samus. Not much clutter/misundrstanding like the western version of MP3's boxart. Nintendo. Cheated. Me. Once. Again. I'm a Japanese version player, AND I just got Prime 3. And THEN I hear this news. If anything, I'd like to see the whole "Friend Ticket" thing change. Not everybody has the game - Japanese version at that, in my case. Who am I supposed to exchange with? Don't you use a Japanese Wii? This deal isn't coming out in Japan, it appears to be a western exclusive.

Somewhat I got jealous about westerners because they get it in 3-in-1 format while I'll have to pay for 3 games if I'm ever interested in buying the other two games. At least it's good that I don't have a US Wii AND get Prime 3 before the news.
