Still waiting for my Skies of Arcadia love, Sega! You've hit nearly every other major DC-era title you've made! XD

Well, just as I log on to my PC to say that i'm a teeny bit irked at the relatively small amount of pre-Dreamcast content, this pops up.

It mentions that "those are the last three characters" that will be revealed on the site (ChuChu Rocket? Who would have guessed?), so my assumption is that there will be more...they're just probably not going to post the unlockable characters. That's fine with me.
There's always DLC, too, so hopefully we'll get Skies of Arcadia content at some point down the line. Here's to Vyse piloting a mini-Delphinus!

That's actually interesting as hell, Parrot. Thanks for that info. Also, the cast in this game is awesome. Seriously, they've outdone themselves. Thank you, Qu (or should I say "The Qu"?). Anyway, I just got done talking about the Sega Superstars series in this thread at Sega-16's forum. Sega has changed a lot. And I agree with you on the characters, especially Ryo, Jacky Bryant (don't call him a Super Saiyan, anyone), and Alex Kidd. I never expected to see Banjo & Kazooie, which is quite mouth-dropping and eyebrow-raising, but not as interesting as throwing in some good Sega characters in my opinion.

I've never expected the Bonanza Bros. to appear, but that makes me laugh happily like them, while listening to the BGM heard here. The car Akira and Jacky ride in looks similar to the one seen in Out Run and Sonic's car seen in the Sonic Drift series.

The cast is pretty awesome! And most of the vehicles driven by characters in the game are actual continuity nods. OutRun and Virtua Fighter were both made by AM2, so it makes some sense for Jacky Bryant to drive the OutRun Car.

Here's the intro movie. It's decent enough.
Also, i'm too lazy to get the link, but for those who care, NiGHTS is apparently in as a flag... waver... guy...
I'm tired.

Yeah, we've known that NiGHTS is a Lakitu in this game for a while.

Not too bad, there, Sega. Almost Smash Bros. Brawl quality, with a little Mario Golf/Tennis humor thrown in.

The demo for the game is available via XBL. You can only play one course and can only choose between Sonic and Banjo-Kazooie. I've played it, and it's no Mario Kart, but it feels solid enough. There's an in-game announcer and I really, REALLY hope you can turn him off, because it's obnoxious being trash-talked by some shithead you can't see. The controls are also really awkward (right trigger is accelerate, left is drift/reverse, A is items/horn and X is rear view), and some of the weapons are annoying.
There are, naturally, a smorgzillion Sonic levels and three JSRF-themed levels. I haven't really checked any deeper than that, but I do know Beat is the only JSR character involved, and there is no Skies of Arcadia content. :< NiGHTS is in as the flag girl though, because some whiny NiGHTS fans threatened to burn their collections, and Sega actually listened. If it were that easy to petition for content, I should have threatened to burn my JSR/SoA stuff ages ago...
*sigh* anyway. Download it, try it. I'm gonna wait a month/month and a half before buying it.

Don't burn the good stuff from Sega's heyday, man. Burn the modern stuff. I'm impressed there's 3 JSR tracks, if I can be honest.

Personal note, I do wish NiGHTS was playable, but I tend to get like that. All I can say is I hope I can GCNC it on my Wii (having not kept up too much with it, I'm not aware if this is the case or not.)

All I can say is I hope I can GCNC it on my Wii (having not kept up too much with it, I'm not aware if this is the case or not.) What's GCNC stand for? And I have no problem with people wanting NiGHTS to be in the game (lord knows I'm currently in the same position with Skies of Arcadia)...I'm just annoyed that a couple of fantards did something typical and hollow like threatening to burn their NiGHTS collection and Sega actually paid attention. It's not only frustrating, but degrading; who knew a random troll would make that strong an impact on a video game? Heaven forbid Sega pay attention to its civil fans...
