I tolerated the new Symphonia. Once you get over hating the protagonist, it's semi-decent.

Well... I never played those games so I'm going back to talk about Metroid.
I must say I'm not fond on the pirates looks in this game. They look like they did in Fusion which was my least favorite look.

lol, to be honest, the Metroid series has never really interested me. The first Metroid game I ever played was Metroid Prime, and I only rented it. Then after that I played the original Metroid, which happened just last week.
But this one caught my attention. I'm definitely going to give it a shot when it comes out.

I tolerated the new Symphonia. Once you get over hating the protagonist, it's semi-decent. I suppose if you get past the protagonist - who's a cut-and-paste of Shinji Hikari from Neon Genisis Evangelion, which is something else I absolutely loathe - and peel away his chippy sidekick (who is just as cliche), the talking know-it-all pet (cliche - Mr. Peabody anyone?), his angsty nihilist role model/archnemisis (cliche), the poor voice acting (the best actors from ToS had been stripped away, and Cam Clarke only narrates a handful of lines throughout the game), the card Pokemon monster-collecting mechanic (which is faulty at best, effectively disables half of your team if you don't have any original ToS characters in your party, and ultimately a distraction from the game proper), the fact that most of the areas you play through are straight from the first ToS and the fact that the plot is, well, bad...then you have an alright game. Unfortunately, it's mired with all of the aforementioned problems which no successor to the first ToS rightfully should, so I've slapped it with the TEi's Seal of This Game Sucks Big Floppy Donkey Dick. I would sincerely prefer to play Superman 64 - at least it doesn't make excuses to suck, failing on its own merits. XD

Then after that I played the original Metroid, which happened just last week. But this one caught my attention. I'm definitely going to give it a shot when it comes out. The Prime series is hit or miss for most people and the original Metroid hasn't aged well. I recommend you play Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, or Zero Mission. Well, given that I loathe RPGs in general (and anime as well), ToS2 redeems itself by tolerable gameplay mechanics (basically the same as Symphonia's). The monster-catching thing is kind of pointless, but never really detracted from things since I basically stuck with the same two monsters I started with. I'm more or less used to crappy voice acting in games (or was, I played this before I got my 360...). Finally, the game has some genuinely funny moments, perhaps moreso than the original. In the end, I came away from the game enjoying it, which is basically all I need to label it as a decent game, flaws and all.

Remember games that are dubbed always have terrible voice acting. But I don't mind it at all. Also I like RPGs though I've played very few.
The thing is I don't play many of these games so they're more tolerable.
And they're not cliche to me because I'm never exposed to them that much. Its been a lot of Nintendo for me, so when drama comes my way its new and exciting! ;D

Remember games that are dubbed always have terrible voice acting. Uh...I would have to disagree with you on that. Go play Persona 4, Beyond Good & Evil, Dragon Quest VIII and Sly Cooper. All of those are great games made even better thanks to their excellent voice acting. Nintendo games aren't well known for their voice work, though, but the dub for Prof. Layton was excellent.

Not just which video games, but with media in general. Whatever the language is, I'd much rather watch something in the language it was made with English subtitles - dubbing things almost always loses elements of the original script. Though a lot of the Studio Ghibli movies are pretty well-dubbed, as was the first season of Pokémon and most of the Metal Gear games. And probably a crapload of other things that I've completely forgotten.

Generally dubs are pretty OK so long as they aren't done by the late 4kids. If anything IS cut out it's probably better to watch the original.

On the other hand, Resident Evil 1 is still great today in a B-movie kind of way because of its over-the-top stupid voice acting.

Wahaha! That's hilariously awful! I never played the original just the Gamecube version so I didn't know.

He said games which are dubbed. Only two of those were. Oh. I guess I went on a voice acting defense streak. My apologies. Although, I can not say for certain that BG&E was cast in English first. It was originally made in France... There are bad dubs, no doubt. But I suppose I happen to like a fair amount of more recent dubs, so I tend to get defensive when I hear "dubs suck". My overreaction.

Generally dubs are pretty OK so long as they aren't done by the late 4kids. The late 4kids? 4kids are still going strong, and rolling in money. There are still 13 4kids shows currently in production, not to mention the money they're raking in from Sonic, Yu-Gi-Oh! and TMNT merchandise. Unfortunately, they're not going anywhere.
