Yup. There are a whole lotta alternatives. I was just offering one theory. This is one reason I enjoy the Zelda games.

Or it could just be, you know, a Twilight Princess followup. Link NEVER carries the Master Sword in the second game of that particular incarnation. With Ganondorf dead, I'm sure Link returned the Master Sword to the Temple of Time and moved on with his life, much like in Ocarina of Time and LttP.

Can't tell how reliable that information is, but the thing about the character communicating with you sounds logical (its voice could be heard from the Wii Remote's speaker).

This point is solid, I mean, Link IS supposed to be the oldest he's been yet, a title, if I'm reading this right, that was previously held by TP Link. This would put it after a Ganondorf game if it's the same incarnation as another Link. There are several possibilities. Of course, I'm not going to play timeline placement until after the game's released. It's hard enough as it is without scrambling to put a game without a confirmed placement somewhen.

I say my favorite theories are that's in a sequel to Majora's Mask or that it takes place before Ocarina.
This is definitely NOT "Hero of Twilight" Link, or whatever the hell he was called in that game.
Also, the notion that this doesn't follow the standard dungeon-field-dungeon format makes me excited to think we may be going back to the traditional Zelda "concept" where it was a very "sandbox" style game. Shadow of the Colossus strikes another one for Zelda Dev Team...

Yeah, I find it a bit hard to simply stand behind a position when we don't have any plot details to reinforce it.

I'm not the first to notice it or say anything. Also, they're saying it's going to be a "completely different Zelda." Why not? Also, fake screens, but still fun: www.zeldainformer.com/2010/01/zelda-wii-screenshots-leaked.php#more

....Um, the Link on the teaser poster looks EXACTLY THE SAME as TP Link, minus a sword. He could easily be the same character.

Though blunt, Frogbog has a point; that Link is identical to the TP version. That teaser picture, however, was certainly more stylized than TP's art was, so I can see where you're coming from. And really, if all of the new Zelda's concept art will be that pretty, I will be in heaven. <3

Spirit Tracks Link looks identical to Wind Waker Link, it's the style.
I believe they already said it's a separate Link in some interview...?

Cool fake screens... though the idea of using Roc's Cape in a 3D Zelda game intrigues me. It would be cool to have the ability to fly like Mario does when he picked up the Red Star in Super Mario Galaxy.

When you think about it, that could actually happen with Roc's Cape.
Now that I'm thinking about it, haven't we HAD a flight mechanic since OoT? I mean, it was limited, but we had Cuccos. It was less limited in MM with Deku Flowers, too. Seems like they could just expand on what we have.

Using Link's inventory: Roc's Feather, Roc's Cape, Deku's Leaf, riding Moosh Using other agents: Cuccos, Golden Cucco, Oocca, Kargarok Using both: Birds & Whip, Peahat & Clawshot
