From 1UP.comI'll be honest, I think holding off showing a new Zelda was a good idea. Last year, Nintendo pretty much flaked out thanks to not having any gamer-games (and even most of the casual titles haven't reached us yet). This year, we had a new Golden Sun, a new Metroid and a bunch of new proper Mario games and a Mario RPG. We were well catered for. If we had a new Zelda as well, then they may have over-egged that pudding (especially as I don't expect to see that game until holiday 2010). Anyway, this is to discuss the new Zelda, how you think it should play (WiiMotion Plus confirmed), and how they should improve over Twilight Princess. Edit by JN: Got a name and it's for 2011!

If they bundle WiiMotion Plus, I'll be fine. I honestly can't say any of the upcoming MotionPlus games tickle my fancy. Maybe Red Steel 2. I don't want to end up in another situation like Majora's Mask where, because I didn't have Donkey Kong 64, the required expansion pack makes the game too expensive for the entry fee to play.

Are there any past weapons that could benefit from the Wii MotionPlus? The canes, the rods, the magnet glove?
My dream is that Zelda games someday contain surreal dungeons with impossible shapes like in M. C. Escher's paintings. If Miyamoto doesn't ever do it, somebody will make a game like that someday.

It's funny how each blogger asistant adds things to the speech that no other recalls, for example: One of them said that Miyamoto told them that he was discussing with them on making Link a kind of wandering hero that would be remembered in the places that he saved, and they were thinking on shaping the dungeons according to this idea.

Actually I want a mix of old school Zelda with top down view where Link its controlled by the control stick, but with the pointer action of Phantom hourglass, where if you point at something with the wiimote, Link interacts with it (attacking enemies, talking to people, etc) The only thing I do not want its the watered down temples of Phantom hourglass

Are there any past weapons that could benefit from the Wii MotionPlus? The canes, the rods, the magnet glove? Now I have a horrible image of Wii Music style flute playing with the Wii Remote My dream is that Zelda games someday contain surreal dungeons with impossible shapes like in M. C. Escher's paintings. If Miyamoto doesn't ever do it, somebody will make a game like that someday. It'd be impossible to do something like that because M.C. Escher plays tricks with perspective to do things that are not possible. The closest you could really do would be something like the Forest Temple in OoT, where rooms rotate and change the layout.

Thing number one: Allow players to actually use the left hand to play. And seriously, this is the exact reason I didn't buy TP: It doesn't even let you actually play as Link.
Other things I want to see: better cameraing (fixed direction camera during puzzles, perhaps?), better pause screen responce (I'm talking about OoT here!) and... I duuno. Not too interested in 3D Zelda, you see...

You seem to have a thing with me because I sound sorta abnormal. Heck, being picky saves me money!

You can play Link proper in the Gamecube version.

Which is what I did. Also consider that the Wii world was a mirror. The sun came up in the West and set in the East... It was screwy, at least this game won't be a mirror because it is being developed straight for the Wii.

I actually agree with the handedness, to be honest. I bought the GCN version to keep him left-handed and play the game that I had been told I would be playing all those years back.
Anyway, snoodiness aside, I figure this game will be pretty closely tied to Twilight Princess. I can't see it not being. That said, I wonder how action-oriented it will become as opposed to the Zelda formula we're all familiar with...

I just hope that this is a tad more difficult than TP (seriously I breezed through the first half of TP in hardly any time at all!). As for the controls, I just hope that it supports the GC controller, because I don't like the idea of actually having to flail my arms around, trying to slash the various enemies that I happen to encounter (this is the reason why I don't play Dragon Swords Quest anymore!).

Like Fry said different sites have different info from that conference, I never heard mention of the girl in the background and that the Link design was adult and the most mature Link they had ever seen. Also Miyamoto talked about how when you play the archery or sword fighting in WSR you should think of TLoZ So you didn't play a really good Zelda game... because Link used his right hand?!I... I just... *sigh* Mind you, that I'm not too interested in the franchise in the first place. You seem to have a thing with me because I sound sorta abnormal. Heck, being picky saves me money! The real irony is that Shigeru Miyamoto is . . . wait for it . . . Left handed. He likes the fact that the Wiimote and Nunchuck can actually be played with the opposite hands and it still works normally, unlike when using older controllers. On a slightly related note I had a friend with an N64 who would use the control stick with his right and the A, B, C, buttons with his left. My dream is that Zelda games someday contain surreal dungeons with impossible shapes like in M. C. Escher's paintings. If Miyamoto doesn't ever do it, somebody will make a game like that someday. It'd be impossible to do something like that because M.C. Escher plays tricks with perspective to do things that are not possible. The closest you could really do would be something like the Forest Temple in OoT, where rooms rotate and change the layout.[/quote] Miyamoto has said the idea for running around planets and the strange gravity in SMG was inspried from M.C. Escher images, so he has used it before.

You can play Link proper in the Gamecube version. I'm a Japanese version player. Generally speaking, I'll have to pay the price of 2 games to get the GC version. Which I obviously didn't.
