I ordered it a short while ago. Can't wait to pick it up in April.

Nintendo of America announced thru Twitter and Facebook that all GameStop pre-orders of Xenoblade will come with a free art book. It says US only, but some comments from Facebook users are saying that EB Games in Canada will also be stocking it. No word on if orders thru Nintendo's online store will include it.

Art book? Could it possibly the massive book Japan (and 1000 french pre-orders) got? The "Xenoblade the secret file: MONADO archives."(The link just shows the front cover of the book, but there will probably be spoilers in it). www.giantbomb.com/xenoblade-chronicles/61-26920/xenoblade-chronicles-art-book/35-521858/EDIT: If you have a pre-order via Nintendo's site and are going to cancel it for the GS version, at least tell (Nintendo) them, you doing it for the art book. Don't want Nintendo to wondering why their is such a rise in cancellations.

That would be awesome, but I doubt they would give away something that big.

I'm sticking with Nintendo, myself. Who knows, maybe they have something better planned.

Good news and bad news. The good news: EB Games in Canada will also be getting the art book! ( Source) (Still no word about Nintendo Store orders.) The bad news: Nintendo's online store may not be shipping the game until late April. ( Source) Can't help but think that Nintendo is encouraging purchases thru GameStop.

Yeah, the Nintendo site has said that forever - I predict they're lazy and haven't changed it. We'll see. It doesn't really matter to me if it ships later than April 6th - it's going to be crazy school times for me that month, so I won't be playing it for a bit.

If you want to know what the cover of the art book will look like, here it is. Additionally, someone from Operation Rainfall emailed Nintendo to ask if the art book would also be available for orders thru Nintendo's store, and they got this reply: Thank you for contacting us about Xenoblade Chronicles. The artbook that you asked about is only being offered as a pre-order bonus through Gamestop, not through Nintendo.
Sincerely,
Nintendo of America So, if you want the art book, GameStop is the way to go.

Thanks for passing that along, Nester. Luckily, I don't really care to get an artbook booklet, which is what it appears to be.

Club Nintendo's "Intend to Buy" survey for Xenoblade is now available in North America. Tell Nintendo how much you love them for bringing the game here.

According to Operation Rainfall, Nintendo has changed the product page at their online store to say that orders will be shipping on April 6. Additionally, they are also now offering a bundle that includes a black Classic Controller Pro for $64.99. Nice to see Nintendo of America taking this seriously. For a while, it looked like they might just phone it in. Only a little over two weeks left before the North American release! Yay! ;D

Xenoblade is now out everywhere in North America! Picked up my copy already.
Been a long year. With all the Operation Rainfall and "thanks for being such great fans" business, I have to admit, holding the game in my hands carries far more significance than if it had gotten a "normal" release. Was it a matter of principle rather than simply wanting to play the game? For me, I think at least partially it was. But sometimes we need reasons to get excited about things.
So, rest of the world, how does it feel to see Americans get excited about a game that's already yesterday's news to you?

So, rest of the world, how does it feel to see Americans get excited about a game that's already yesterday's news to you? It finally gives me an reason to post this image. Also if anyone need any advice on about stuff in the game/you get stuck, feel free to ask for help (with spoiler tags obviously). EDIT: Here's some basic tips - Read the manual/tutorials (and check the tutorial menu again occansially for new ones that pop up) - See those "blue orbs" that litter the landscape? When you collect them, you can put them into your "collectpedia." When you fill out a section of the collectpedia, you be rewarded with items. - Explore the enivironment and discover "landmarks" (You even get EXP for doing so!) . . . - . . . And don't be scared about losing battles, because when you die you just end respawning at the most recent "landmark". No loss of money/EXP/anything. - Remember there is a "quick travel" option avalible from the very start of the game (requires finding "landmarks" to travel to.)

And also you can get quite far before realising you don't just move the cursor over the different battle options, but you also have to press a button to activate them.
I played for hours before realising that. Hours and hours...
