Say what? I don't know how many times I've read that and I still don't get you "So say if I have a Character Hack on my SD card, like say Replacing Link with Zero, and my friend doesn't, and we battle via Wifi... wtf should happen?" If that's what you are saying, then same thing. Character Hacks like Zero and Wisp are .pac (or .pcs, I forget at the moment) files, in other words, the "same" type of files that Character Textures are. In other words, we will Desync. Same goes for Stage swapping. If I have, say one of the SSE Stages replacing 75M (example), and a friend I shall battle via Wifi doesn't, we will Desync.

Alright, let's try this.
Let's say I take the Fire Mario outfit and give him a pair of blue pants. Still a white shirt, but now with blue pants. You take the same outfit and give him a dark brown shirt, courtesy SMB1. I play Blue Pants Mario in an online match against, say, your White Bowser, which I've painted as Dry Bowser and you've painted as Morton. What do we see?

Answer: As for textures and BGM's? We found that only the player who is using the texture hacks can see them. Meaning I couldn't see that Shadrio's Sonic was textured as Shadow, but instead he showed up as the Black colored Sonic. Same goes for the music, his music was different from mine. If you don't understand this... well, I really can't make it easier. You're just going to have test it out yourself, because this is... well, trivial, if you've seen it for yourself '>~>

So, that applies even if both sides have a texture hack on that skin. Gotcha.

I think that it's because the hack is drawing the textures from your own actual SD card. Over Wi-Fi the person you were facing would only see the textures that he's drawing from his SD card. Because the hack draws the texture files from the SD card that's inserted in the user's Wii, people over Wi-Fi can't see each other's textures or hear each other's songs.
That being said, if Shadrio had hacked his Red Sonic to look like Knuckles, but I hacked my Red Sonic to look like Shadow. I'm almost certain that he would see my Red Sonic as Knuckles because it's taking the texture file from his SD card. Likewise, I will see my Red Sonic as Shadow because it's taking the code from my SD card.
Anyway. You wouldn't think that having the scrolling stages slowed down to half speed would make a big difference in a stage, but it's amazing how big of a difference it is in BBrawl.

Okay, which is it? Would I see your Morton, my Dry Bowser, or plain old white Bowser!? I can't handle so much conflicting data! YAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! *Passes out to overload.*
Seriously, though, which is it? If I skin white Bowser to Dry Bowser, and you play white Bowser online, what do I see? I can't readily test this right now, so if I'm gonna learn, it's gotta be through someone.

Put simply: Graphics are not sent over the internet to your Wii during a multiplayer battle. That would be a massive strain on bandwidth and would slow everything down. During online play, your Wii will take graphics from your own copy of SSBB. If somebody applies a skin mod to their game, that data is stored on their copy of SSBB, and not yours. So when you play, you will see the normal graphics for that character. However, if you have both applied the mod, then the graphics will be pulled from the same place, and you will both see the reskinned character. I hope this is clear and we can put this to rest now

I would hope so, but unfortunately what you said contradicted Shadrio and the confusion could set in. According to Shadrio, if I were to have (in my example) a Dry Bowser skin applied on my Wii and he played as that skin on his Wii (hacked on his or not being immaterial,) I'd see the unhacked White Bowser. What you said would negate this, as if it were reading from my SD Card I'd see Dry Bowser. Leaving Morton out entirely, of course, since I wouldn't see Morton, since it's been established skin data doesn't transfer. According to Shadrio, skin data gets overridden on the Internet no matter what, while you said the Wii'd be reading my data. Basically, to put this whole thing behind us, does skin data get overridden on the Internet or does it take my skins? (And dear God, I hope this is the last time I have to ask.)

I dunno... I just read Shadrio and KajiFox's posts and they don't contradict what I said at all. I think you just don't get it.
I shall try and simplify even further with a theoretical game we are playing.
Shrike's Copy You have hacked White Bowser to look like Dry Bowser. You have hacked Red Sonic to look like Shadow.
Fry's Copy I have hacked White Bowser to look like Morton. I have NOT hacked Red Sonic.
Shrike plays as Red Sonic, Fry plays as White Bowser.
On Shrike's Screen You see Shadow playing against Dry Bowser. Your texture data for Red Sonic is being drawn from your SD card and displays Shadow. Your texture data for White Bowser is being drawn from your SD card and displays Dry Bowser.
On Fry's Screen I see Red Sonic playing against Morton. I have no texture data for Red Sonic, so the regular data from the game is used. My texture data for White Bowser is being drawn from my SD card and displays Morton.
Shrike... if you're confused it's because your posts do not really make any sense. It's not clear what you're asking at all.
I can't draw any sensible questions out of these three posts. You need to calm down and word your questions much more clearly.

If I skin white Bowser to Dry Bowser, and you play white Bowser online, what do I see? To this, Shadrio responded "White Bowser," which is why the answers contradict. If it's reading from my SD Card, I would see Dry Bowser, even if he's playing Morton (a skin he hacked to the same outfit.) If it's an override for skins, I'd see default white Bowser. So the answers do, in fact, contradict. I really can't put it any more simply than I've been putting it. The problem is that no matter how simply everyone answers, the answers are contradictory, or at least seem that way to me. Shadrio's basically saying I will not see Dry even though Dry's my white Bowser. You're saying I'll see Dry. That's why it's confusing.

I really don't understand what you are saying, Shrike. I thought it was pretty clear from what Fry was explaining.
If you have a hack that made your white Bowser look like Morton and I don't have any hacks. We play Brawl online together and I select white Bowser and you don't. You see Morton on your screen while I see white Bowser on my screen. Did I get it right, Fry?

Magnificent! ;D Anyway, this skin and music stuff is awesome. The looping of the songs may be a little laborious, but once you have them done, you'll never complain again why this or that song wasn't in Brawl. Of course, you aren't the maker of the game, and you can't convince the rest of the world your song choices are the best... but some may make sense. I'm attaching my list of replacement songs, and here are the respective brstm files. Thanks go to Shadrio for building the majority of brstm files. Attachments:
