Cameos on the NES (and Arcade / G&W)

I know I've added the majority of these to the site already, but I thought I'd put them up here for completion's sake. Cameos of NES, Arcade and G&W games.

Blue means the cameo still needs to be added or expanded with a screenshot.

Arcade

Punch-Out!! / Super Punch-Out!!
Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong and DK Junior can be seen in the crowds at both sides of the ring.

Arm Wrestling
The fighter Mask X is actually Bald Bull from the Punch-Out!! games. You have to pull his mask off to beat him.

Game & Watch

Balloon Fight
The villain is called "Oiram Repus", which is "Super Mario" backwards.

Famicom / NES

Barker Bill's Trick Shooting
The Duck Hunt dog appears throughout the game.

Famicom Grand Prix: F-1 Race
Mario appears on the boxart (but not in-game).

Famicom Grand Prix II: 3D Hot Rally
Mario & Luigi appear on the boxart driving the Monster (but do not appear in game).

Famicom Wars
The Orange Star CO on the Donut Island map is Commander Samusuun, with Samus Aran's mask from Metroid.

Family BASIC
1. BG Graphics mode contains elements from Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. and Mario Bros.
2. Several games starring characters from Donkey Kong, Mario Bros. and Pinball

Kid Icarus
The Komayto (JP name: Komet) is a smaller version of the Metroid.

Kirby's Adventure
1. Black & white stage based on the original Kirby's Dream Land.
2. HAL logo appears at the end of a stage.

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
Mario appears as the referee.

NES Open Tournament Golf
Donkey Kong is the clubhouse banker.

NES Play Action Football
Nester appears at the end of a match to report on the scores.

Pinball
Mario and Pauline appear on a bonus table.

Smash Ping Pong
Donkey Kong Jr. appears in the crowd.

Star Tropics
1. Nav-Com is based on ROB.
2. In Chapter 5, talk to the character Hook. He asks if you want to hear the ABC's of fishing. If you answer "No", he asks "Is your name Nester?"

Star Tropics II: Zoda's Revenge
You have to collect items called Tetrads - Tetris pieces hidden throughout time.

Super Mario Bros. 3
1. The Magic Whistle tune and whirlwind come from The Legend of Zelda.
2. A Mario Bros. minigame can be played. This is expanded on in the Super Mario All-Stars release.
3. In the SMAS/SMA4 versions, the king of World 4 is transformed into Donkey Kong Jr.

Tennis
Mario appears as the umpire.

Tetris
Complete B-Mode on speed 9, height 5 and you will be rewarded with a scene featuring a lineup of Nintendo characters having a Russian party, including Donkey Kong, Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Pit, Samus Aran and Link.

Also, the penguin is Gurin from Binary Land (Hudson), NOT the penguin from Pinball.

In Mother, a kid in Twinkle Elementary School asks whether you have played Dragon Quest 4. In the unreleased NES version, that was changed to Super Mario Bros. 7.

This is kind of random, but Super Mario Bros. + Duck Hunt + World Class Track Meet includes a copy of CHR1 data from SMB2J on its menu select screen.

In Punch-Out!!, Doc tells you to join the Nintendo Fun Club. Also, if you enter Nintendo's old consumer service number, 800-422-2602, you get a busy signal.

In Star Tropics, the guy's name is Hook. Bate is from Bellcola (or Tunacola, i forgot which)

On the first one - you are correct, they are the same song. Unfortunately for you, they are both based on the same piece of classical music, and not a game reference.

On the second one... No. That's ridiculous.

Don't know the rules on recycled sfx, but Ganon's laugh in the Zelda II game over screen is Soda Popinski's. At the very least, it's interesting.

That same laugh soundbyte was used all over Punch-Out!!. Bald Bull also had it if I remember correctly.
