Actually I find it that Sega would sacrifice a big chunk of the market releasing it as a download. Many of the people who miss Sonic good old days aren't really to tech savy, its probably a similar market to the people who went back to Mario with NSMB, and do you think NSMBWii would have done as well as a downlodable title? I must say, I'm quite intrigued that they are continuing the story of Sonic 3& Knuckes, Are they ignoring every other game in the story of the series, or is this game going to bridge the story to Sonic Adventure (who mostly ignored everything that predated it)

Huh, that's odd. My link is broken, but yours is different Adam. Mine had an interview about the game. Yeah, it looks like they split the article I posted into two.
Anywho, looking foreword to it. I love the old Genesis games, and if this is half as good, I'll be one happy Qu.

I mean they typically average 8 Worlds with 8 levels a piece (64 Total!). Sonic averages 4 Worlds with 2 levels a piece (8 Total). Mega Man is 8 Worlds with 1 level a piece, plus a 4 level Fortress (12 Total).

I've heard of that boycott. And I must say from the video, it looks idiotic. For one thing, the game looks more or less like the old Sonic engine with modern graphics, for another, what lesson is there to be learned from a boycott where you're still paying the company you're boycotting?
I'd like to know if Tails and Knuckles will be in this game still, and I really want to know at least what Eggman's up to. Maybe not the plot, but what he did anyways.

Wow. That's so stupid. Sonic fanboys have been crying for a 2D Sonic game for 10 years and Sega finally listens to them and makes one, and they still complain about it. Sonic fanboys are retards, especially when they are boycotting Sonic 4 by buying Sonic 1 - so either way, Sega profits.

Yeah. Comparing to Mario-games.
New Super Mario Bros (Both games) being so welcome, it's so SAD to see that when Sonic is trying to get back at it's roots, his fans just bug him again. Poor, poor Sonic.
But at least if they were on it, Sega still gets the money. (-övö-)

The Sonic fandom seems to be split three ways: Fans of the 3D Sonic games, fans of the 2D sonic games, and furries. Disregarding that last category, 3D and 2D Sonic fans have been at odds with each other, although unintentionally, each one demanding more of their preferred type of game vs the other, always bitching that the other gets more attention, which is technically a load of shit as a lot of 2D Sonic games have been released on handhelds. Sure, they aren't nearly as well-exposed as the 3D games, but they're still there nonetheless.
Now, there's the problem that all Sonic games have been of dubious quality following 1998 (I haven't played Sonic Rush Adventure, so I can't really comment on it), and rather than the 2D fans being cautiously optimistic, they're going into nerdrage and already assuming it's going to be shitty, which is an unfortunate precedent Sonic Team has set for itself. Honestly, I find this retard-outburst from the 2D Sonic community embarrassing. -_-;

They're specifically mad at what little we've seen out of fear that it'll play more like Sonic Advance 2 and onward, rather than Sonic 1-3.
And with good reason, considering how Dimps hasn't made a Sonic game that plays like the classics since Sonic Advance 1, plus this game is called...you know, Sonic the Hedgehog 4. It's SUPPOSED to play exactly like Sonic 1, 2 and 3.
Me, I haven't read into it too much. I'm just waiting for the game to come out. If it ends up sucking, then...I'll just dismiss Sonic as a lost cause and be on my merry way.
Still, it is rather depressing to see such a franchise go down the toilet like this when it's pretty evident that it COULD'VE been just as good as the rest at this point.

If the fanboys don't shut their trap, Sega would probably change it to Mark III/Master System/Game Gear quality, after hearing many gamers frequently talking about 8-bit more than what made Sonic successful: 16-bit.

I'm cool with this. Shiggy once said something along the lines of, 'A delayed game will eventually be good, but a bad game is bad forever.' I sorta disagree because a delayed game can still be shitty (*cough*StarFoxAdventures*cough*), but the heart is still there.
