It did? I could've sworn it first appeared in Partners in Time.

Kat and Anna glide with capes in DIY Showcase. This is pretty obviously inspired by Cape Mario:

I think that is another cultural thing, rather than a Mario thing... although the yellow capes could be... It's a tough call.

Have you ever seen it in another source? I'm kinda curious.

What in Japanese culture uses yellow capes/parachutes like that? If not, then it could be just Mario-related.

If it really is a Mario reference, then it looks like Diamond City and the Mushroom Kingdom just got closer together, if you know what I mean. *awaits Todding*

Mario ties his cape to his shoes when he's gliding. Maybe I'm just being picky, but I'd at least look into whether this is from another source before jumping to the conclusion that Miyamoto invented it.
I would start with ninjas. As always!!
It'd be like assuming the Leaf and Raccoon Mario was a purely Nintendo invention, rather than tied to the legend of the Tanuki. In this case, perhaps the feather has some significance greater than simply representing "flight".

That would make sense- I've always found it bizarre that a feather gives you a cape.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo didn't come up with the concept of "colourful tropical birds".......

Right, you beautiful people! I am actually finally starting to reinstate cameos, starting with the Wii, and they have fancy screenshots and all that. It is happening. Right now. Check it! The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessWii Sports (check this one - I have side-by-side comparisons of the NES and Wii courses) WarioWare: Smooth Moves (big job, but it's mostly done). Wii PlayNotice anything? Kinda going in chronological order... The problem? I don't think I own Super Paper Mario any more. Anyone able to get me screenshots from this? Anyone actually willing to suffer through it again?

I think I'd mention the hints that the fishing lady is the descendant of the original Fishing Guru, but aside from that, great as usual. The quality of your WarioWare came sections is amazing.
