That is awesome as hell. I've always loved that theme. Day is made.

Your milage may vary on this. GoNintendo put it up, so I thought I might as well put it up here.

Considering Crocomire's cameo, it's conceivable.

www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/wiiware/wpgj/index.htmlWiiWare game Penguin Seikatsu. I don't know much details of this game besides that it's about... farming penguins. Look at the homepage background movie. One of the hats that can be put on the penguins is a Mario cap. So.... what's on the list of DKCR cameos so far? I've heard of (and seen myself) these: <spoiler action="highlight"> - 7-1 cameo: Crocomile skull, 25m, G&W Judge - Kraid lookalike in the "Dusky Cliff" concept art - DKAC sprites craved in everywhere as if they're glyphs - DKJr music in 9-1 - 7-5 - not exactly a cameo, but there are DKAC-likd girders</spoiler> ...Well, that's already a lot of cameos.

The DK JR. Math sprite too, notable because, AFAIK, it's the only DKJRM cameo ever.

This is the latest from Skip, so I bet there will be a few cameos.

Some of the eggs in this DKCR level look an awful lot like Yoshi eggs.

Somewhat spoilerly cameo: After you beat the true final level, you get some concept art for it. One piece of concept art has a Virtual Boy themed minecart section, actually called Virtual Boy Rails. It isn't in the final level, so I'm not counting it as a spoiler.

The SMB2 illlustration isn't actually in the game.

I have a feeling that the canned Virtual Boy level might be a reference to the supposed plan to make DKC2 for the Virtual Boy back in '95...

Here's some clearer footage of DK playing with his DS. Nice to see that even Diddy Kong is even looking at it. Anyone know if Diddy Kong has his own idle animation?

Donkey Kong's idle animation is actually really tricky to do. He only seems to do it if he's stood on perfectly flat ground. I was trying for ages in various levels, and it was only when I was psyching myself up to beat one of the temples that he sat down and whipped the DS out.
Not sure about Diddy, but surely it can't be that tricky to find out...?

In Wii Play if you shoot the grass in the shooting game, you can hear a dog bark. Just thought I'd throw this out since it's not on the site

Not sure if this would count as a cameo, but I think it's worth mentioning. In Donkey Kong Country Returns, the diorama of the Factory world seems to be a reference to the arcade Donkey Kong. It's basically a simplified 3D-version of the 25m level, with Donkey Kong standing at the top, ready to throw a barrel that he is holding. Several other barrels are rolling down the girder-structure, the same kind of DK-girders that appears in 7-5.
