Okay, looking for the picture now...while I do that, since this is the most current Pokemon topic, I'mma remind everybody that Gamestop is currently offering a Pikachu-Colored Pichu for download in DPP. I got mine today. ;D Trading this Pichu into HGSS unlocks a special event in Ilex Forest involving Spiky-Eared Pichu. Ah, here we go! Attachments:

God I hop it's not another shitty Ranger or Mystery Dungeon game. Or a shitty game at all. Unfortunately, it's too soon following the releases of Diamond and Pearl for a fifth gen, so it's not very likely... If you look at previous (Japan) generation times, a fifth gen would be due (for Japan) around 2010. due to 3-4 year time gaps. Gen 1: 1996 Gen 2: 1999 Gen 3: 2003 Gen 4: 2006 Gen 5?: 2009-2010 Then again does anyone want a 5th gen? Is there any Pokemon that can top the creator/god status of Arceus? Or would they just create a 5th gen of no notable legendary types?
But if the game is a spinoff, I just had a brilliant idea. What if you a DS game(or a killer app DSi title) like Nintendogs but with Pokemon* (and other PM mechanics) replacing the dogs. Two money printing series combined into one! * small popular/starter Pokemon, not all 493.

God I hope that screen is fake. Not just because the Pokeymans look like arse (Farfetch'd deserves the coolest evolution ever), but moreso because the screen is fucking identical to D/P/P/HG/SS, which in turn is identical to all the ones before it. I shouldn't expect different, but man, I hope this game switches it up a bit.

Or would they just create a 5th gen of no notable legendary types? Whoa, shit, 2006? It doesn't feel that long ago. Every other generation shift felt necessary to me with the current one getting long in the tooth, but DPP still feels young. Also, I wouldn't mind if GameFREAKS did, say, 100 (give or take) new Pokemon and only four or five of them were legendaries. I liked how it was in RBY/GSC where there were only that many legendaries each (Legendary Birds, Mewtwo and Mew in G1, then Legendary Dogs, Lugia, Ho-oh and Celebi in G2). RSE and DPP having at least ten legendaries each squashed the magic out of the concept - especially with gimme legendaries like Kyogre, Groudon, Dialga and Palkia. Again, the first and second gen's legendaries had very specific things associated with their lore, if anything at all (I.E., Celebi watching over the Ilex Forest, rather than all forests in Teh Wurld), and we don't need anything more than that.

Those are pretty crappy Fakemon up there. They usually try to make the evolutions of Pokemon a little more different than that. It's not always a bigger tougher version of what you had before.

The Farfetch'd one is actually cool when you realize it's based on a Samurai. That'd look cool and make evolutionary sense. Well, as much as a Pokemon game usually does.

Yeah I'm just saying they could have changed the color a bit, made him more upright than ducklike. Something like that.

Gah. I'm tired of them consstantly adding new Pokemon. "Oh yeah, there's 151 Pokemon, but I hear on another island that no ones bothered to visit 'til tomorrow that there are an extra 100 species!" "Hey! You hear about this Hoenn place? I hear they got an extra 100 species that have been living since forever but no one's bothered to visit this land until now!" "Ooh! This area's called Sinnoh! They have all these library books talking about Pokemon Gods that have been supposedly known for 100s of years, but just by everyone living in Sinnoh!"
Give me a break. They need to do what DiU said and change gameplay. Not add new species.

If by "different" you mean "ridiculously overdesigned with little pointless thingamajigs and doohickeys all over". Most of the evolutions in the first gen looked like bigger and tougher versions of their predecessors, so I don't see what you're getting at.

If even two games take place at the same time, it'd be logical to conclude that there's a branch of the project going on in each region, so when you hand in your PokeDex, the professors can sit down together with a pipe in hand and discuss the knowledge they have so far and publish a collective paper on all the known Pokemon.
