Looks kinda like a bipedal hyena to me.

I hear from my uncle who works as a janitor in a school that Reggie's kid goes to that the starters are going to be Electric, Ground, and Flying.
Except that neither are any of my uncles janitors nor do I have family in the Northwestern US. I'm just making fun of the Gen. 4 "The starters aren't the usual types" thing.
More to the point, I won't bother hyping this newbie until I see its face. From what I can tell, though, it looks like a sickly furry coyote.

Meh, looks like a Lucario evolution to me.

Better not be. I'm no fan of the gift eggs (Riolu and Togepi) having three-step lines. Hell, Togekiss STILL has the ironic ability to piss me off.

I don't think it would be too exciting if this Pokémon has any relation with a previous one. This Pokémon is in fact the "Phantom Ruler Z" of the 13th movie according to Masuda . Who knows, its typing might have to do with the origins of the legendary beasts of Johto. Maybe if it's part Fire, there could be an explanation for the fire that killed them before being revived by Ho-Oh. A tour by other forums allowed me to obtain this cool picture of an interpretation by a fan; post more if you find them. People have compared the silhouette to these characters: 1, 2, 3. Some people propose those hairs to be mohawks like an indian's. It would be interesting actually. Somebody also noted how there's a Mightyena in this bag besides the Tangrowth that has been seen in artworks for many weeks.

The idea would click with my sickly coyote idea if it has anything to do with Mightyena. It's probably some half-ghost, though. If there's ice involved, it's the Anorak, no questions asked.

To be honest, if there is one Pokémon that deserves not to evolve, it's Farfetch'd, not because of any hatred of the bird or assumed lack of popularity, but because he's cool enough as is. Farfetch'd is one Pokémon that I feel does not need a family. I feel this way, in truth, about several Pokémon/families (in this case, of course, larger families,) even some that later did expand. In fact, Eevee, Cleffa, Pichu, Tyrogue, and the Dawn Stone Pokémon (and similar species) are the only ones that come to mind I support. (I might have a couple more, but I can't remember which.)

What players would complain about Farfetch'd is how weak it is. Sure, the Stick grants him the chance to hit hard, but it's not guaranteed to activate and Farfetch'd won't last much in battle. Just like Sneasel, Murkrow, Misdreavus and Gligar. People keep comparing Z to Lucario and Mightyena. Some propose Mightyena could be henchmen of some sort to Z; I think this is more likely if it has to do with Mightyena at all. A coloring of the previous fan interpretation.

My biggest concern with that look, for what it's worth, is the obligitory bipedalism I see in it. I'd like for it to be at least partially four-legged and not just a furry anarchist coyote.

. A coloring of the previous fan interpretation. I was going to say that it looks like a Sanslash evolution, but having seen that, I'm going with either Lucario, Mightyena or a stand-alone pokemon.

Hey, don't be hatin' on Gallade. :< Also, part of the fun of the Eevee family is to find out what elemental versions come next! I want Fighting and Steel Eeveelutions next. ;D ...The other two were leagues ahead of this design. If this happens I swear I'll never let my Farfetch'd evolve. Poor guy doesn't deserve that. Also, seriously, does Mightyena even deserve an evolution, let alone to be in the spotlight like this? That'd be the equivalent of giving Raticate or Furret evolved forms, only Mightyena sucks diseased, grody cock!
