The big update is supposed to be in May, isn't it? It is incredibly slack of Nintendo to not have all that stuff ready for launch, though.

Nintendo's want the 3DS's eShop to be "perfect" unlike their eariler attempts with the WiiWare and DSiWare shops (which they have admitted they "weren't satisfied with").
A 1 1/2 to 2 month delay isn't that bad. The Wii didn't have WiiWare when it launched, (nor any online multiplayer titles for 6 months in western regions).
But gotta admit if Nintendo stuffs the 3DS shop up, oh boy . . .
Hopefully they try to actually advertise the online functions of the 3DS this time.

Its fair to say they haven't only known about the 3DS shop for the past two months, though - they've already had plenty of time to make a system thats 'perfect' as it is.

That still doesn't explain why you can't send DSiWare games over.

Boy that Pac-Man game reminds me of a Sonic game.

Pacman CE is the shit, but I want CE DX in there too.
Still, portable CE is damn tempting on its own.

Well, I have me a 3DS and it's... good, I guess. The 3D effect is very impressive, although I have set it just below halfway on the slider, as any higher and I struggle to look at it for more than 10 minutes.
The cameras are dreadful abominations in anything other than direct sunlight. They are best used with the 3D off entirely I have found. They are grainy as hell as well. I'm all for keeping the cost down, and shoving three cheap cameras in there is OK and all, but a little bit of extra give for using it indoors?
The biggest problem is lack of must-have software. The Wii released with a GameCube Zelda game, Wii Sports and Wii Play, which sold the system's high points as well as provided one title that kept gamers happy for a long time. The best software is the built-in stuff, which essentially does what Wii Sports/Play did, but there's nothing really there to play for long periods.
And the software is priced higher than Wii games, which I don't like at all. The only GBA/DS games that went over £30 were Pokemon, and now nearly all 3DS software is £40. I will be doing a lot of second-hand shopping unless those prices come down by at least £5.
Still... It's a nice piece of kit. Much nicer than the 1st Gen GBA and DS models, and once we get this software update in May (as well as some game releases) then it'll start to be used more.
For now, I'm happy with the DSi and Pokemon.

OoT and Starfox 64 release dates . . . June 19th for NA and I believe it's also June for the rest of the world. The remake is also being developed by Grezzo (who last developed Line Attack Heroes for WiiWare . . . and is still Japan only . . . ?) EDIT: Jp teaser site, background has neat little "3D camera effect" While SF 64 will be barrel rolling* out a Japanese release on July 14th ( Japanese website is up and contains the graphically updated intro seqeunce). * "Press Z L or R twice!" * EDIT: SF 64 Intro!

Some new features for OoT confirmed. - Boss rush feature - Super guide like video system for puzzles EDIT: It also appears the Master Quest will be mirrored (I can't remember the original MQ being mirrored). Master Quest mode will see some surprising changes to the game. Puzzles will have to be thought about and solved in new ways from the main Story mode, whilst items and enemies will be found in different locations. The land of Hyrule has also been reversed as locations are mirrored - so what would ordinarily have been on the right now appears on the left and vice versa.Comparison shots!

The 3DS' battery can lick my ballsack. If I want it to last more than an hour and a half, I have to keep it on the dimmest settings and make sure I haven't accidentally left the 3D slider up (I'm mostly using old DS carts in it - no 3DS launch games worth owning). It's like playing the original DS again, only I have to keep the screen that dim.

I know I'm seen some sort of battery bracelet that can work with the DSi (and also the 3DS since they use the same plug) Gamespot topic about the battery bracelet.
