RE: Last legendaries. It is based on the registry of domain names genesect.com, kyurem.com and meloetta.com about a (week?) after the release of Pokémon Black and White in Japan; they have been parked on behalf of Melbourne IT Digital Brand Services who have provided domain name management for Nintendo intellectual property in the past. I heard that's the reason why Bulbapedia, etc. were using those since last year. But, that still excludes the name "Zen mode" for Darmanitan's form, and Meloetta's "Aria Forme" and "Pirouette Forme". Where from? I love your nickname! ;D I'm not exactly sure, though as you probably already know leaked information like this has especially cycled through various websites (e.g. a Japanese forum leaking the secondary and final starter forms through a member's own artwork). IIRC the 4chan image board has an additional rule now which tries to restrict leaked Pokémon Black and White information from being distributed there. Melkor from the Spanish Pokexperto was also a person who made his own silhouettes of 5th Generation Pokémon before they were officially revealed along with his own descriptions of those Pokémon. I don't know much background information regarding the matter other than an (assumption) that some of this content may have been leaked directly from Nintendo employees themselves. Thanks

Typhlosion! Use SeizureFlash! On Carracosta's name, I noticed how similar it is to Costa Rica, a country that is relatively close to the Galápagos Islands, home of the Galápago tortoise (even though that's a territory of Ecuador). Searching for both terms on Google shows people that agree on the possible ethymology, albeit with a much better reasoning: the sea turtle species, leatherback turtle.

Farfetch'd is the only Pokemon name to have an apostrophe. First gen really did some weird things.
I sorta miss that. Ahem. Now that we have an official list let's play a game called:
What Would You Have Named It?
Pretend you are in charge for giving English names to these Pokemon, what are some of the names you would have given?

- Kohaitter, Senpaitter and Senseitter for the wotts
- Zapbra for any of the zebras...
- Lovat for one of the bats...
- Something containing "kiai" for Sawk (I know I'll grow to like Sawk nonetheless)

[/li][li]Zapbra for any of the zebras...
That sounds like dangerous underwear. XD I don't understand why anyone would want to change Tepig, it's one of the best names in the series! But I would've called Sandile's final stage Crocovile.

But, that still excludes the name "Zen mode" for Darmanitan's form, and Meloetta's "Aria Forme" and "Pirouette Forme". Where from? I know I've said it in the past, but Nintendo spelling "Forme" with that silent "E" is the stupidest thing. You can really only get away with the "silent, additional E" clause on three instances: it's for something artfaggy, it's for something from old literature, or it's fuckin' METAL \m/ \m/. Nintendo, and Pokemon in particular, meet none of those prerequisites. Farfetch'd is the only Pokemon name to have an apostrophe. First gen really did some weird things. I've said it a million times in the past, but 5gen is a hardcore contemporary reflection of 1gen. There are a lot of nonsense names and Pokemon concepts (Klink's evolutionary line, Sawk and Throh reflecting Hitomnchan and Hitmonlee, the Timburr line looking as sucky as the Machop line, Dwebble and Crustle being Ground-type variations of Paras and Parasect, Trubbish and Garbodor being like Grimer and Muk, et cetera), and that's part of what really draws me into this generation. That and the awesome new Ghost types. Not those fruity Water/Ghost types though, those freak me out. The only one I would really rename is Cofagrigus, but I can't really think of a better name at the moment. Give me a day and I'll come back to this.

On another forums (where I started the exact same topic) Someone suggested "Sarcophogeist" which is awesome but too many characters long.

Hm, a few names I'd change:
Serperior Cinccino Jellicent Beartic
It's not that I don't like those names, it's just that I think that they could be better. Every other name is at least good, works well as a pun (Throh, Sawk; Foongus, Amoonguss) or awesome (Galvantula, Zoroark, Klinklang, Haxorus, Hydreigon, etc).
Serperior obviously combines Serpent and Superior, but "Superior" doesn't give much of regal feeling, which Serperior obviously exudes. Can't really think of a good name for it, though.
Cinccino is just its preevo's name with one letter changed. Dull, I wanted something close to Cappuccino. At least I know what I'm nicknaming my Cinccino.
While everyone was ranting/crying about Cofagrigus, I was ranting/crying about Jellicent. I truly do not like that name and will nickname on the double once I get one meself.
Beartic. Not only do I hate its design (bland as hell), but the name doesn't help at all. And Battlewise, Ursaring does a better job.

What about Sarcofaboo? It is 'sarcophagus' but I replaced 'ph' with 'f' and I added 'boo' at the end. I think it is within the character limit.
