Good find about the bridge! The starters have now been shown on TV. Footage from the game was shown, too. - The Pokémon have animations during battle and not only when they come out of their Poké Ball
- NPCs may talk to you automatically, using text balloons as seen before in scans

It's kind of weird to see them moving around so much with idle animations, but don't move or respond when they attack/are being attacked. A short 1 frame 'hit' animation would make a lot of difference.

They look like Paper Mario-style cutouts. Definitely not really sure what to think. In my head I saw it similarly to Disgaea/FF Tactics/Star Ocean, with 2D sprites on 3D backdrops with a 3D camera. Apparently not the case. They still look "flat" and the movements are weird and jerk around a bit.
Hopefully as more vids come out it will make a bit more sense?

Sorry to double post, but I went back a page and had to respond to all the going-ons:
I was really pulling for the Shigoku region (sp?) because it made sense (yin and yang, black and white :/), but I could see them going crazy with this and making the game take place in and around the U.S. West Coast or Hong Kong or something. Totally.
Starter names floating around web (all fanmade): Smugleaf, Snivy; Pignition, Pignite; Wotter, DerpDerp.
My money's on the "grass snake" becoming a frilled lizard or some sort of basilisk. It's growing poison ivy on its tail, it has sepals growing around its neck, and there are plenty of "snake-like" lizards out there (skinks, for one) that this could be. Also projecting it's like Sceptile: fast, very high offenses.
Pig becomes some sort of exploding hog. All the way. The tail looks like a cherry bomb/fuse, and I can see the fan theories of a Fire/(insert type) boar with an exploding ass to be totally on the spot. Definitely the bulky starter too.
Otter has to NOT be an otter, because I can't see a 3 stage otter, esp. a fully-evolved starter. I still contend it's going to become a Water/Ice polar bear something.
Trickery probably deals damage based on the opponent's Attack stat, which means it's probably a great way to take down things like Gallade and other phys. sweeps weak to Dark (assuming this move is Dark). Claw Sharpen makes stuff like Stone Edge downright illegal.
Now a question to end: how does Illusion get broken? And does it mask moves as well? Because seeing an Entei flinging "Ice Punch" or something to that note would definitely alert ME that I'm not quite fighting an Entei...

The water-starter kinda reminds me of this otter, so now I'm hoping it's 3rd form is using seashells like a bunch of retarded Wolverine claws.

Claw Sharpen makes stuff like Stone Edge downright illegal. This is what I didn't want to hear. I mean come on, the user is already investing a turn in raising its own Accuracy. Kill it during that turn or die. Sweet Scent is illegal? No. A Pokémon using an impossible move could very well be the way to tell if that's Zoroark. This not much different from when you can tell that a Drapion has Sniper because you connected a critical hit on it, or when you can tell a Hypno can't be put to sleep because no message giving away the opponent's moves appeared. Things like that test your knowledge on Pokémon abilities and moves. About how to end Illusion's effects, PokéBeach notices that in this part of the footage, Raikou fires an Aura Sphere at Zoroark (which would be super effective).

So I'm assuming after you hit Zoroark with a super effective hit, it will transform back?

It could be a certain amount of damage taken, too. If that Aura Sphere hurt Zoroark enough, that may have been what broke the Illusion. I would definitely like to hear more first, though.

Anyway, it goes without saying that, similar to Dragon Dance, a Pokemon that is able to get away with using this attack can easily set itself up for the sweep. It doesn't mean a savvy player can't see through it and end the assault, just... it's another way to set up a great sweep. I'm actually very excited about the attack!

I see no reason to illegalize Claw Sharpen to begin with. It's not a Speed modifier, it's an Attack and Accuracy modifier. It makes Zoroark able to hit hard and more often. It doesn't mean your Pokemon won't be able to kill him, it's not bumping his Speed and his Defense as well.

I think I'm going to take the Water starter for the first time ever.
Because if it was brown and didn't have that tail and seashell on it, it'd look EXACTLY like my first teddy bear.

Awesome. It's incredible (and I'd say positive!) this is simultaneously on the American site.
