A few things of note: Jigsaw Pieces can be found in each level- they make a coin if all are collected. Shades of Banjo-Kazooie here...
Each level ends with a barrel with a balloon in it. Diddy Kong Racing, anyone?

Actually the barrel is a roulette, like the target/pole from DKC2. The balloon is worth an extra life if you get it.

If I had to say it, this E3 proved to us one important thing: Before ya'll go wanting another Smash, you'll have to first want more new games in these franchises. You know, to bring in more to work with for a next Smash.

Am I the only one disappointed that we didn't get a new F-Zero game announced? We haven't had one since GX and that was ages ago.

But only if it doesn't solely devote itself to giving Captain Falcon head and not paying attention to anything else in the series.

Um, the whole Captain Falcon thing come from Smash Bros, and F-ZERO... is F-ZERO. I don't know what the players will think, but the game itself will probably pay attention to other people. This is not a big concern if you ask me.

It's clear they're not going to continue the series proper. XD I think Nintendo is realizing that, which is analogous with the fact that they're remaking Star Fox 64, the last solid entry in the series.

Is it really that clear? It hasn't been particularly long since F-Zero GX in the grand scheme of things.

If they actually made decent Star Fox games we might have got a Wii release As for F-Zero, GX was a great racer, I hope they do continue the series. Everyone loves Captain Falcon x

Am I the only one disappointed that we didn't get a new F-Zero game announced? We haven't had one since GX and that was ages ago. Wow, Nintendo announces additions to nearly every franchise in their catalogue, and you're upset they didn't announce that one in particular? Seriously? Remember, Nintendo doesn't have to appease us at all. We have proven to be a highly vocal, whiney lot when it comes to their games, and yet seem to be an ever-decreasing source of revenue for them. They don't have to make F-Zero Wii, because it won't make nearly as much money as Nintendogs + Cats. And yet Nintendo continues to feed us with lovely games... Which is why I get so annoyed when people waaaah at the lack of a particular franchise, arguably the last game of which was released for the last generation of consoles, which really isn't that long ago. I, on the other hand, am upset that I never got the DS Mole Mania that I predicted back at E3 2004. I did get the DS Picross and Panepon games eventually though...

That's just a DK platformer I was thinking of. I don't like how Donkey jumps, if he was training then that would make perfect sense.
EDIT: I was replying to Donkey Kong Country Returns game play. I didn't mean to bump.

and as if the complaining about a lack of F-Zerov wasn't bad enough, now we're going to complain about how Donkey Kong jumps? Oh, yeah, that makes sense.

I did get the DS Picross and Panepon games eventually though... 2D Mario, DKC and Kid Icarus have taken waaaaay longer for comebacks, too. GX is 7 years old. Some folks waited 18 years for 2D Mario to come back to home systems. I've waited 14 for DKC. We honestly should be happy Nintendo doesn't rehash this stuff every single year. Not that they should wait 18 years between home console 2D Mario games, but any other company would have totally ruined any of Nintendo's hit franchises by now. But Nintendo waited 5 years for a sequel to Nintendogs, which sold 20 million copies! That's a good interval, I think. And this is nothing new, either. The original DKC and DK'94 broke a 10 year drought of new DK games, and ExciteBike 64 took 16 years. Or, if you don't count that as a "true" ExciteBike, then it took 25 years for the WiiWare version.
