Actually, they said "no crocodiles" in one interview and "no alligators" in another. Whether or no that means Kremlings are out is debatable, but I wouldn't care if they were out. Expresso did, but they dropped him after one game.

I remember a point which would be interesting to note if I weren't so sure it could only work in a one-player-at-a-time game: In DKC, it was entirely possible for the back Kong to be far behind the front Kong, my favorite example being one time, in Tree Top Town, DK glitched out jumping into one of the upward-facing Barrel Cannons that Diddy was inside of, so he followed the barrel along, hovering in his jump sprite. It also happens without glitching on the above-mentioned Expresso, with Rambi at full speed, when rolling or cartwheeling down a hill, and the Keg. In these multiplayer games, I can't see that happening where player 2 has to keep up, but I don't see that these will be a problem anyway since Expresso was the only one where it was ridiculous and Expresso hasn't been an animal buddy since DKC1.
I notice alot of crap about Squitter and Squawks, too. Squawks would reprise his role as a light-source, and Squitter's webs would work for both Kongs, including the one not riding the GIANT FUCKING TARANTULA. I don't see how either one of these is a problem. Again, Expresso would be the only real problem buddy, and he hasn't seen the light of day since DKC1 (except for cameos, of course.) Every other buddy runs at a reasonable speed.

Again, they could also have it be like the GBA ports and have both Kongs ride the animal at the same time, or they could have it be like NSMBWii and give both Kongs an animal whenever the crate is smashed open.
However, there is one other solution you all seem to have forgotten. Animal Barrels. Remember those? You know, being able to turn INTO the animal? They were heavily applied in both DKC2 and DKC3. If they used them here, it would be a simple matter of one or both Kongs actually becoming an animal. If one Kong turned into the animal, the other Kong could ride on them.

No, it is not debatable T_T There's no need to be technical when implying the Kremlings won't be in. However, there is one other solution you all seem to have forgotten. That was mentioned twice in the previous page already. Not the thing about only 1 of them transforming though (which is very possible).

While there is no need for discussion on a topic that lacks any real information (random fan desires are to be expected, but not debates), it doesn't hammer the final nail in the coffin on the fact of which the Kremlings are in or out, because of said lack of information.

You kinda HAVE to be a pessimist on that. What's a Kremling if not an anthropomorphic crocodile? That interview was, in fact, the final nail in the coffin unless, on the unlikely chance that they are in the game, they intentionally never used the word "Kremling" for that reason. Remember, DKCR has a new villain group. Why must they be tied to the Kremlings? Don't you all remember how everyone felt about Ganondorf in Twilight Princess? How he felt kinda tacked on as a character? (It was a great game, don't get me wrong, and his role in the plot is within reason, but remember, he felt like a tack-on, like if they'd planned him, the conversation could have gone "So, how's the fight with Ganondorf? Is it bad-ass?" "OH SHIT, WE FORGOT GANONDORF!") That the Kremlings are sitting this one out because a new villain group exists is likely to make this a better plot. And DEFINITELY the SMB2 of the DKC series, WHICH IS NOT A BAD THING.

Yeah I would have preferred it if Ganondorf was not in that game. However Ganondorf was not missing for over a decade... So I can understand their grievances... But still, let's give these Tikis a chance.

The Tikis actually make me think of the first Crash Bandicoot. I kinda look forward to where that'll go ;D

Well, I apologise if this is considering bumping the topic, but some members on DK Vine found a nice video which has a few interesting new levels/scenes from the game in the background: www.wiiinsider.de/specials_676685.phpYou can see various content from the game in the background at 3 minute onwards. Seems to be a new cave level, another jungle/ruins level and a level where you're chased by some kind of Tiki boulder thing.

It's only considered bumping if you post something completely inane and pointless in a topic that's been dead for years. This is just fine. It's better than fine, it has new stuff!

That box art really looks good! It looks better than the original Donkey Kong Country's IMO.

Usually once the boxart has an ESRB rating (other than "RP") then that is the final boxart.
And it's a very nice box. I sure hope the game lives up to it!
