The moles remind me of Hard Hat from Donkey Kong Land, like, a lot. I wonder if that is intentional? The frogs make me think of Jungle Beat as well. Inspiration from other games is not always conscious or intentional. Even those hippos you bounce off of remind me of Scoff from DK64, but I don't think they were that direct about it.

I would wager they are the main antagonists in one world. It looks like a bunch of levels involve chasing their train and then the bananas in transit.
Which is rad! That much consistency in concept between levels in a platformer is unheard of.

UK trailer. gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=141482And a new trailer from GameTrailers. Looking better and better every time! If I had been worried on this game being easy then this would would have washed that worryness away. This trailer also seems to explain how the Tikis came to be, I think.

Lovely swing in that second trailer. On soundtrack alone I'm sold. Even if the game blew I'd at least get the soundtrack.

Speaking of swing, there doesn't seem to be a lot of vine swinging in this game... At least from what we've seen in these trailers.

I'm not too worried. Remember, these clips are showing us a lot of new. If there was a vine-, rope-, chain-, snake-, or penis-swing in every trailer, you'd think, "'Kay, it's just a bunch of vine-swingin'," and where would your want for DKCR go? Some call it "Gehenna." Others prefer "Heck." Me, I prefer "Fuck-all." I'm sure we'll have plenty of swings.

The original DKC games didn't have a whole lot of vine swinging either. They had some, most notably in areas where you'd be dodging Zingers and Neckies or other flying nasties.

DKC2 and 3 didn't have any swinging vines at all.

And any stages involving heavy use of swinging vines were generally pretty shit.

I watched a few trailers for this game (including the one superpoppybros posted), and I'd have to say that Donkey Kong Country Returns is truly an awesome throwback to the SNES Donkey Kong Country games. Might as well say that this is New Super Mario Bros. Wii done the Donkey Kong way, I love it! I may probably want to get this for the Holiday season, though.

The Super Guide feature is back. Not surprised, it makes sense. Anyway, IGN says if you die eight times in a level the checkpoint pig will pop up and suggest using the SG. If you will use it the SG will then take out Super Kong, a white coloured version of DK, who will play through the level on auto-pilot, with the player able to jump back into the action at any time. Needless to say, none of the bananas, banana coins, puzzle pieces or KONG letters will be added to your collection. Also, acorrding to IGN you don't just have to watch, once Super Kong passes the area you've been having problems with you can jump in and play as him to finish off the level. Was this something you could do in NSMBW as well? I never used Super Guide in it so much, used it only like 2-3 times I think. www.gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=141758

According to the staff in GAME that I talked to, DKCR will be released in the UK on the 3rd of December.
Man, I can't wait that long...
