(Good idea, Nester)
How to start here...Hmmm, how I dig how they redesigned most of the other characters up in there. And to think that Sakurai would be working on this one? Makes it more interesting to wonder about...
Ah, there's my say so far. Alright, now carry on.

I wish there were a way to show the gameplay of these games other than with a 2-D video or by requiring players to play them hands-on. I'm feeling silly assuming these games will be great if I haven't experienced the tridimensionality of them!
Anyway, it took so long to make a third Kid Icarus game. I liked the life Sakurai injected to Pit in Brawl.

Anyone think we may see some of those Brawl outfits in Uprising? I was just thinking today that Sakurai may have had all these ideas running in his head that, now that he's making the game, he has the ability to put to use. And if that's the case...well, Dark Pit, perhaps?

It makes me wonder if Medusa will transform into her one eyed monster form like Ganondorf did in OoT.

I wonder if this game will include songs from Of Myths and Monsters? The only OM&M references I see are his laurel crown and blue eye color.
The official artworks for Kid Icarus: Uprising kind of remind me of the Namco × Capcom artwork of Valkyrie from Namco's Valkyrie series.

I'm more concerned for the Eggplant Wizard. I must see some aubergine heads.

I'm more concerned for the Eggplant Wizard. I must see some aubergine heads. Do you mean in artwork form? Because he was in the trailer.

Yes, in artwork form. I missed him in the trailer, but I knew he was in it, so I wasn't concerned there.

While Pit's and Palutena's redesigns didn't surprise me as they were in Brawl, I'm very impressed by how amazing Medusa's redesign looks. Its like Sakurai took the hideous NES Medusa and turned her into a potentially fappable Medusa.
I really like what Koopaul just said... the idea of this hot Medusa transforming into an ugly one-eyed Medusa from the NES game a la Ganondorf and Ganon in OOT. It sounds so right to me... it would be an epic final boss fight.

I'm curious if there will be any stages similar to the final stage in Kid Icarus- a SHMUPS-lite stage. That was one of the few things I really liked about Kid Icarus was the complete genre change at the end. We know there will be flying stages, but they don't look quite the same, what with the five minute limit.

What I'm really hoping for is those maze-like dungeons you enter in the fourth level in the first three worlds to return... I really liked the Zelda-ish approach to these levels. What I don't want to see in this game is that if you fall down off screen, you die. I hate that part in the NES game and that's why I like the GB game better. It fixed that problem and allowed Pit to flap his wings a la Raccoon Mario to fall slowly. And I hope you don't have to stand in one place and kill snakes over and over just to get hearts so I can get experience points and money. This 3DS game looks fast-paced so maybe it doesn't require you to play like you did with the old games...

In the final stage of OM&M, it wasn't a side-scrolling shooter, it was a platformer that felt a little like controlling Cupid Kirby.

Hey ParrotHead, I still think if Nintendo Of Japan didn't note anything about OM&M, maybe they don't much refer to that, to avoid confusion for japanese people... even that it sounds little unfair to us? I know.
Man, Kid Icarus was pain.

As excited as I am for this game, I do hope they try to keep it different enough from Sin and Punishment to make it uniquely "Kid Icarus." They can go all sorts of directions with the franchise, sure, since it's not been around in almost 20 yrs. And I totally *get* the multiple weapons/flying around SHMUP aspects of the game... those were in the original, to some extent, and I always fancied the idea of a Kid Icarus that focused on multi-weapon combat (sorta like God of War, but cutesy)
When they redesigned Pit for Brawl, this Kingdom Hearts look to everything should've been obvious. I could see the game actually playing a bit like that now that I think of it. I'd be content with the freeroaming "blast/slash/use a spell" gameplay, mixed with rail shooters between stages.
Medusa's redesign is PERFECT. It really is like the series "evolved" to keep pace with its other Silver Age brethren: Metroid, Zelda, Mother, etc. etc.
Do hope they keep the cheesiness intact. I love it. I also hope they reference OMM in some minor way, even with a stupid collectible card or cameo that just mentions Orcos or something. It's a shame just because the game never launched in Japan it's "nonexistent" by Nintendo's standards. A bit like saying Star Tropics never happened. ...wait, what game was I just talking about? ;p
