Wow, I'm totally loving the details: Usually my favorite type of games has a lots of variety in weaponry or things you can do. (and little comedy)
Totally, the uprising has begun. XDD
While it makes me sad to think the other Nintendo's forgotten franchises which might never be able to get back into limelight again...

Why wouldn't they be able to get back into the limelight? Worked for Kid Icarus. Worked for Metroid. Probably gonna work for Murasame. Classic games are like a bad itch, except that they aren't bad or itchy. At least, if used correctly.

Metroid doesn't count. It was more active than those other two series you mentioned.

True. Perhaps a better example would be the jump with Mother, although that was Japan-only (Mother 3, to be totally clear.)

But Itoi doesn't want to work on it anymore... (-ii-) Which is a SHAME!
And I dunno about Murasame... while Takamaru made a comeback in Samurai Warriors 3, although toned down a LOT from his swordman skills from Captain Rainbow by having the generic swordman moveset, he looks pretty updated too. But a new Murasame-game would be a hit. Add some japanese mythology stuff like japanese ghosts and take out those puzzle elements from Zelda- (-lwl-) There ya have it then!
Wondering also why Game Freak is milking PKMN-series these days so much. As we all have seen that company has a great talent on doing platforming games, they should do new one or work on a sequel of Drill Dozer.
And when is next Puzzle League gonna come out?!

“At the time when the original Kid Icarus came out, there was an overall trend of very serious games like The Legend of Zelda and Metroid. But Kid Icarus was a slightly mroe comical, lighthearted type of game. So it was important to maintain that. For example, in this new game, Pit talks a lot as he’s fighting. And rather than being serious and steadfast about the mission at hand, you’ll find him joking and being more relaxed and casual.” Oh yes. Welllllll...Just as long as he doesn't overdo that, and only says something worthwhile if the situation totally calls for it. I personally don't mind if a protagonist speaks, but if poorly executed like in Other M, then fuck that. I do hope Pit really lives it up with his lines. Figures that his portrayal in Brawl was a complete and total foreshadowing to all this...

I'm curious to see if this game will have all the other NPCs like Zeus, Nurse, Shopkeeper, and God of Poverty. I'm pretty sure Nurse will come back since her job is to turn Pit back to normal after he's been turned into an eggplant and we all know the Eggplant Wizard is back.

Here is screenshots from the 3DS conference. Nothing new, but I love the shot with Medusa and Pit. Looks pretty epic. www.nintendoeverything.com/51601/EDIT: I have some problem getting that shot to upload so I just show a link instead, just incase. www.nintendoeverything.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/kid_icarus_uprising-3.jpgAnd the game can also be seen here (0:18 to 0:27) in the 3DS games trailer from the conference, nothing new here either but a very shot scene (start of a boss battle?) with Pit and Medusa similiar to the one above can be seen in action, cool. Here is something new however, 'Sakurai visits Kid Icarus: Uprising playable demo session, divulges more details, tweaks to gameplay'. www.gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=137891The following quotes come from Masahiro Sakurai... - "I've been hearing a variety of opinions (of the Kid Icarus: Uprising demo), but they're more favorable than expected. However, I do feel the height of the threshold for the TPS genre, so I believe we'll have to come up with some ideas for this." - "There were many opinions that aiming is difficult. We're thinking of adding an assist feature for the final version. Also there have been some opinions that it's difficult to move and aim at the same time." - "There are people who don't like 3D, so we wont be putting in any devices that can only be cleared in 3D."- Sakurai is most impressed by these two 3DS games: "Resident Evil Revelations. Also, Super Monkey Ball maintains 60 frames per second, so it's extremely smooth." - game's playable debut following Nintendo's 3DS conference - game offered play on stage 1 (easy) and stage 4 (hard - ability to select from three weapons - stage 1: first half was set in the air, second half taking the player down to the ground - Pit's charge is particularly powerfu - impact of the enemy bullets flying from within the screen out to right in front of the playe - on the ground, gameplay switches to third person shooter style - some people felt the simultaneous movement and aiming of Pit's view was difficult - stage 1 ended with a boss fight - close combat system is quite good, nice tempo, easily kill off enemies in succession while advancing - slide pad for moving Pit around - pull back on the slide pad to make Pit evade attacks - aim via the touch screen - shoot with L - Close range attacks are also performed via L - charge shot is automatically built up when you're not firing - pointer grows larger when charge shot is ready - during play of the first stage, the mid-battle conversation between Pit and the Goddess Palthena is in full voice I'm glad Sakurai knows you don't have to give in to the 3D gimmick since many people (including those with eye problems, like an old friend of mine) don't like 3D or can't see it.

aussie-gamer.com/nintendo-world-2011-kid-icarus-uprising-conference/Here's the full conference about the game, direct from Sakurai himself. -So that's how each world in the game flows. Looks like fun. -Hold it. What did he say about Samus at the part with Palutena? -Holy shit, that is Twinbellows! -A Giant Reaper as a boss? I knew it was that all along! -What are those voices at the part with Hewdraw? I think that's all its heads bickering. I can't wait to hear that in English. (I think they were right when they said this game has a comical vibe...) -I wonder if Pandora will appear? Or not... -Medusa battle looks sick as well. -Haha, that hunk of meat (replenishes health?) looks like the bait from the first Legend of Zelda. Looking at it over (with their names written in Japanese), "Twinbellows" and "Hewdraw" are actually kinda lame. That was all back when "translations" at the time were that weak and subpar. On top of that, I know where this is going: It would be more like "Twinberus" (as in Cerberus) and "Hyudra" (as in Hydra). With the transliterations back then, you'd expect far better by today's standards when it comes to that.

Kinda sad that they'll never acknowledge the existence of Myths and Monsters.
If it didn't come out in Japan it never happened I guess.

But if Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters gets a Virtual Console release on the 3DS in Japan, maybe Nintendo of Japan will start acknowledging it?

You mean just like how StarTropics was released for the Japanese Virtual Console?

StarTropics was created with the Western market in mind, expressly. Not so much with Kid Icarus:OMaM.
