This is probably the closest thing we have to a Smash Bros. cartoon.

I started watching Gravity Falls about a week ago. Fun show. Getting Paul Robinson to animate a legit videogamesque character shows the people behind it are going the extra mile to make the show great. They could've easily just went with a hologram like character in the show's style, added a bunch of beep boops and call it a day.
And that console wars anime seems pretty crazy. I guess it'll be like that Hetalia thing except with a crapton of videogame references. That Mario is awesome.... Samurai 'Zelda' is pretty weird though.

Anyone catch the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon on Nick last weekend? If you live in the US, you can see the two part premier episode here: Part 1, Part 2. This series seems to take its cues from the original 1987 cartoon, being more comedy-oriented and using some similar story elements (like Splinter originally being human). They even brought back Rob Paulsen, but it's a little strange hearing Raphael's original voice coming out of Donatello now. (Meanwhile, Raph's new voice is actually Sean Astin.) I'm one of the few people that grew up with the 1987 series who actually liked the 2003 series better. But I have no problems with different interpretations of the franchise. (Not even Michael Bay's screwy idea of making them aliens.) So, I'll be interested to see how this one develops. I will say one thing, tho: this Splinter kinda creeps me out.

Anyone here like Megas XLR? Word has the creator got the rights to series back from Cartoon Network. And supposedly a Kickstarter campaign will help revive it. And in sadder news, Motorcity is apparantly not getting a second season, because Disney did complete shit in helping to promote it. Even sadder is the team behind it spent 10 years pitching the idea around. Also My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic season 3 begun a few days ago with a two part primere. It was pretty good, at least it does seem to be setting up future plots for the rest of the season. Watched a Gravity Falls matharon yesterday, and managed to watch the first 7 episodes. It's a very good series.

Motorcity was a much better show than Tron: Legacy or Randy Cunningham, but over here they didn't advertise it at all and only showed it at 7am on weekdays. They showed the episodes out of order, and usually weren't even showing the one they had listed. It's like they wanted the show to fail.

Just went to Chris Prynoski twitter page, and the picture of him with G.Newall has this quote "This guy has broadened my perspective . There's a new way of thinking about intellectual property"Some sort of Motorcity (or Megas XLR) game that consists mostly of episodic cutscenes with little bit of gameplay (to constute as a game) distributed on Steam? And/or possibly some sort of Valve IP animated by Titmouse? (It's gotta be a two way deal).

EDIT: Tron Uprising might not be cancelled, but does need more viewers au.ign.com/articles/2013/01/13/tron-uprising-producer-we-need-more-viewersFrom what I'm heard, Disney has cancelled Tron Uprising, but will show the last episodes of the season, and future ain't looking so bright for on CN for Green Lantern and Young Justice, with no mention of any more seasons. Maybe they should stop putting them on so many bloody hiatuses. And in good news, Dexter's Rude Removal will finally air . . .

A very good short, apparantly a guy named Paul Rudish who worked on Dexter's Lab and served as one of the 3 co-creators of Sym-Bionic Titan worked on it. (If only it had credits . . .) In depressing animation news Green Lantern TAS and Young Justice appear to have both been cancelled. Their creators and fanbase are trying hard to get them back www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rl4eL0YKtO8And the two shows crappy replacements are Beware the Batman ( another Batman show . . . yawn) and Teen Titans Go which looks like crap, could it be any more obvious that it's made in Flash? I mean, even the minute long "New Teen Titans" shorts looked better than that crap. www.youtube.com/watch?v=la3DwKOC7os

Also, I've always thought Batman was kind of a lame superhero, as awesome as The Dark Knight was.
