You really think the game we're getting looks like crap?
I dunno, it seems pretty hard for a Kirby game to look ugly. It already looks like a cartoon, even without the cel-shading.

I did like how much grittier the original looked. Some of the old screens looked downright eerie.

Yeah, its not crap, but its merely ok. Nothing special. Certain screens look pretty nice, others look pretty average. That cel-shading style could have been great though, look at how great Wario Land Wii looks now, and will continue to look.

So, anyone got/getting it here? I'm inclined to get it, but Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land have priority.

This might be just be a fanservice-full package for hardcore Kirby-fans only. If ya are not, ya won't like how easy, not well-graphically using (Kirby Air Ride-like style) and and how much music and presentation sucks.
No, this is just for kiddies and lil siblings of yours. It doesn't do anything new, even after all these years we've waited for a traditional Kirby. It doesn't recreate anything of the good ol' glorious days of Kirby, even if the game's meant to be going back to series' roots.
Epic Yarn's million times better than this, it made a sacrifice of straying too much away from the traditional Kirby, and that's a great example how every traditional Kirby should be done now on
-IGN.
WHO CARES, IT'S BEEN RELEASED, I'M IN SUPER TUFF PINK PUFF-FILLED BLISS!!!

IGN. A shining light in the darkness of a Mercurian day. I am fully convinced of the sanity of the men and women who run that site from Bedlam.
Honestly. They JUST FREAKING SAID Epic Yarn wasn't what they wanted, and in 13-page children's book format. This is why I can't take IGN seriously.

Really, what self-respecting video game fanatic pays the slightest bit of attention to IGN? They're the laughing stock of the entire gaming world.

Remember, you can't spell ignorance without IGN.
Anyway, I've picked up the game today, and having a blast.

Taking a look at this video again, there appear to be enemies from Kirby's Dream Land 3 as well. Could it be that elements from the three non-Sakurai Kirby games will blend in with the standard Kirby fare for this game? We're not gonna see Rick, Coo, and Kine again, given the ability system from Adventure/Super Star here. Perhaps we can even see Meta Knight make his stand against the Dark Matter (if that appears again). All I'm going to say is pay attention to the final boss. Also, the King Dedede Robot is in the game, and named HR-D3. Yes, they actually included it. Also, it's apparently from Dream Course originally- it's cool that they re-used such an obscure boss, albeit redesigned.

HR-D3........ What could that stand for? Huge Robot Dedede?
I've been seeing videos here and there (don't know much about the bosses yet though), and I really hope to get this game as soon as possible now. I'll go tomorrow, and I hope our local importers have this game. If not, it's going to be another week's wait...

HR-D3........ What could that stand for? Huge Robot Dedede? I automatically assumed "His Royal DeDeDe"... Much like how British ships and such have HRH before their names.

I think HR is a designation Kirby games just give robots. Remember the boss of Shiver Star in Kirby 64?

Man, this game's so gonna make up for all the Main Kirby Platformer-hunger for long time. Cleared two world so far under two hours (much more shorter than I expected), I also got World 2's all energy spheres at once. Super Abilities are very fun and keep the game quite varying, hohoo.
The worlds look so crisp and magical, very inspired by Kirby Air Ride and Kirby 64. But kinda hard to catch any good tunes in this game, actually. (Heard maybe three that sounded good). Music seems Kirby 64 + Kirby Dreamland 3-style at times, almost emulating the soundfonts from Kirby 64-songs.
Also I think I just discovered my newest hot fantasy: wearing a cowboy clothes while holding a brown, leather whip. (-=//ii//=-)
/I just love Whip that much. I can finally revenge on those asshole Pactos, who gave me so much frustration in Kirby's Dreamland 3 and Canvas Curse. It's also like a mix of Yoyo and Suplex./
Hi-Jump disappointed me though. Tornado to less exten (could've used more control-based functions and little tornado projectiles), and Needle to much less extent. Spark is very brilliant, albeit bit hard to use... Cutter has the aiming function, wahoo! Hyper Cutter is also very good, reminds me bit of Ebisumaru's Golden Shuriken from Ganbare Goemon 3 (SNES).
Water's superfun! Ride that surf!!!! (-lu<-)b My second fave after Whip so far. And rainbows make everything better (though Rainbow Rain is very hard and tricky to pull of, gau.)
'Kay, gotta go to sleep up... what a day.

Got the game, played it all the way to after 2-4. I'll probably go on with it later.
First impression: The game start sequence is lovely. It's a bit too short though, and not "powerful" enough comparing to the opening of Melee and Air Ride. I t's funny to see how in the title screen where the cast hangs on a Warp Star waving hands, Meta Knight waves his hand somewhat unwillingly after the rest did. I like to think of Meta Knight as a cool loner at first, but after so many years of getting Kirbified (showing up in not-so-serious spinoffs and all), he's more or less used to having fun with Kirby.
I'm impressed by the game so far, exploring around the stages and experiencing with the abilities. The abilities are quite solid, logical upgrades from Super Star. Graphics, music, sound effects and all are impressive so far (doesn't beat Air Ride, but otherwise it's excellent compared to other Kirby games), and trying around with other characters are fun too.
This game looks like it's targeting at Kirby veterans, seeing how even though the first levels are easy, they are still more difficult than the first stages of the other games.
There's one thing I'm disappointed at, though. From what the looks of it, this game has only two regular subgames as opposed to the Kirby standard three (or six in Mass Attack). Still, it did not disappoint me much beyond that so far. I can't say it really is worth waiting 7 years for, but so far it's been an excellent game that I can say deserves the Kirby name. Whether it beats Kirby 64 as my favourite platformer, or Air Ride as my favourite Kirby game (and game of all time), I'll see when I 100% this thing.
