There are so many characters I really would love to play as in Smash 4.
For the Mario series, I only want Toad. I imagine his fighting style would incorporate grappling and mushrooms. Grappling stems from his superhuman strength in SMB2... meaning he would lift and carry opponents, throw them around. Mushrooms come from his association with them, seeing he's a Mushroom Retainer and all... and he would headbutt opponents with his big mushroom hat. I think his counter would be like Peach's B, except with Poison Mushroom... not only does it counter attacks but also shrinks the opponents. Why Poison Mushrooms? It was Toad's special item in SNES Mario Kart. I think he could probably use the Golden Mushroom from GCN Mario Kart to speed across the ground or air to tackle the opponent... kinda like how we would hit the other karts with mushrooms. His Up B would be the Propeller Mushroom, of course. Maybe he could drive on his kart for his Final Smash where he uses the Lucky Seven item to do use seven items at the same time:
- drop and throw Bananas, Bob-ombs, Green Shells, Poison Mushrooms (random, press A to drop items, press B to throw items)
- jump with the Feather (press jump button)
- become the Bullet Bill (Side B, controls like Yoshi's Egg Roll)
- become invincible with the Star (this is automatic because everyone are invincible during their respective Final Smashes)
For the Pokemon series, I really want to play as Meowth... it is a pipe dream, I know, but I want my Pikachu vs. Meowth match. I envision Meowth as the Meta Knight/Marth of the Pokemon series, but without the gliding nor the wings. A small nimble cat that fights with sharp claws and gold coins. Pay Day seems to have been portrayed in three different ways.... as a projectile that scatters coins around from Pokemon games (B), as a powerful force field surrounding Meowth's body as coins shoot around from the first Smash game (Down B), and the way Meowth did Pay Day in Brawl (Final Smash). Meowth is the Scratch Cat Pokemon so it should use Fury Swipes (Side B) where it scratches the opponent in combos much like Marth's Side B move. Faint Attack could work as a recovery move (Up B) where it disappears and then scratches the opponent in any direction you choose before reappearing. Meowth is able to learn Iron Tail so I think it would be cool if it was used as a Meteor Smash like how you do Lucas's midair back flip (I got this idea from the anime with Tyson's Meowth).
For the Zelda series, I want Tingle because I think he would be very interesting. He could be like Jigglypuff, meaning he is not a good fighter on the ground but is a beast in the air. He would float like Jigglypuff with his red balloon. He is also a very random fighter, inspired by how Tingle would have random effects in Brawl. For his B move, I think he could use his variation of Zelda's shield only he uses fairy magic to produce a Rupee-shaped crystalline shield. The color of the Rupee influences how much damage it would counter when it is shattered by attacks.
Green = 1% (common, but at least it trips the opponent)
Blue = 5% (common, minimal knockback)
Yellow = 10% (common, good knockback)
Red = 20% (uncommon, decent knockback)
Purple = 50% (rare, better knockback)
Orange = one-hit KO (very rare)
His Side B would be somewhat like Olimar's Side B where he tosses random Stray Fairies at opponents. The fairies have different effects depending on color.... and unlike the Pikmin, you won't know which color of the next fairy is!
Orange - slows down time for one affected opponent like the Stopwatch item, refers the Inverted Song of Time learned in Clock Town
Pink - places the flowers on the opponent's head like the Lip's Stick item, refers the flowers and the poisoned waters of Woodfall
Green - puts the opponent to sleep like Jigglypuff's Sing, refers the Goron Lullaby needed to enter Snowhead
Blue - freezes the opponent inside a block of ice, refers the Ice Arrows found inside Great Bay Temple
Yellow - causes the opponent to spontaneously do their three taunts in a row, refers the undead-related masks that cause the ReDeads to dance (how random is that?!)
His Up B would be like Yoshi's Egg Throw where he throws bombs... he doesn't need to fly with the balloon for his Up B because he already have several jumps like Jigglypuff's anyway... and his Down B would be charging the sword spin with the Great Fairy's Sword... if you charge long enough, he might spin the super-sized sword uncontrollably like Link's Hurricane Spin in Wind Waker. His Final Smash comes from Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland where he flies around with the balloon, drops bombs straight down (B) and throws Rupees at a rapid-fire speed like a machine gun (hold A)... just like a war plane that shoots with machine guns and drops bombs. The bombs can knock away opponents but the Rupees don't, they are like Fox's Blaster but it is very good for racking up percentage damages.
They are just some of my dream fighters for Smash.
